Advocate for yourself
I feel that a doctor specializing in treating cancer would be more compassionate and helpful. Dr Latif has to be the boss! He is not open to discussing options or looking into new medical treatments. If you decide to do that for yourself and try to have a conversation with him about it, he will become extremely abrupt, rude and unprofessional. Then, he will refuse to administer appropriate treatment, just because he can! Be careful when choosing an oncologist. Apparently, there are some who have such major control issues that they don’t really care about their patients.

One of the kindest, people I’ve ever met. Always takes time to review my scans frame by frame with me, is also hands on in his exams. Hated the cancer, but after surgery, it led me to Dr. Latif & for that I’m thankful.

Arrogant, condescending, patronizing attitude—this doctor only wants patients that will do what he wants them to do without regard to their personal beliefs. His opinion is the only one that matters. I didn’t choose him. The hospital assigned him to my case and I did not like him from day one due to his condescending tone. Educate yourself and make your healthcare decisions based on what is best for you, not this unprofessional doctor.

This doctor is a horrible doctor. Tries to cover up mistakes by lying through his teeth. Screwed up the methotrexate dosage and now trying to pass patient off. Says he makes calls when he doesn't. He got ahold of patient relations in which they called me. Patient relations stated Dr Latiff said his wife and daughter were too aggressive. Aggressive? Asking questions is apparently to aggressive. What a joke of a doctor.

My dad was diagnosed with Stage IV Colon Cancer back in February. Dr. Latif has been an amazing physician, giving my parents hope and being available for all of our questions, concerns, and complaints. His staff is remarkable and the hospital itself has helped my dad through this extremely arduous process both medically, mentally, and financially through Halifax's patient assistance programs. I can not recommend him enough.

I was diagnosed with stage 3B lung cancer and sent to Dr Latif. At my first appointment he spent an hour explaining what the disease was, what my treatment options were and answered all my questions. When he was interrupted with an emergency call he apologized profusely for it intruding on my appointment. Through out my treatment he has always acted like I was the only patient he had which is very comforting when you are faced with a terminal illness. I highly recommend Dr Latif!

Quite literally Doctor Latif saved my husbands life. He and a gifted radiologist devised a program to stop a bleeding mass which enabled him to have surgery later. While in another hospital the blood count decreasing due to the bleed, measures taken to build his blood but nothing done to stop the bleed (they said it wasn't possible) discharged him for hospice at home. We left and went to ER where Dr. Latif works...he began building the blood up/ low level radiation mentioned above. So grateful!
