Now it's been two years of follow up, and I feel the same level of confidence and gratitude that he has decided to go into a very difficult line of medicine.

I can't express how lucky I feel to have had Dr. Zumsteg as part of my team treating an uncommon parotid cancer a few years back. He's an incredibly warm, kind person (though extremely reserved so it may not show at first) who truly had my best interests at heart and proactively communicated with my other doctors to ensure I was getting good, comprehensive care. He's genius-smart with encyclopedic knowledge, extremely well-respected by the other doctors, kind to his residents and the nurses I got to know liked him too so that says a lot. I don't think this specialty gets many reviews but I'm starting to understand how critical this physician has been to my excellent outcome from my treatment 5 years ago. Faced with a similar issue (but NOT a recurrence) now but from the wrong side of the country, I'm struggling with the idea of NOT having Dr. Z as my oncologist - I trust him that much, that I'd consider temporarily relocating to have him supervise my treatment again. HIGHLY RECOMMEND.
