Excellent experience
Dr. Hickner is an excellent doctor. He took his time explaining things and was very thorough with all the details and pre and post op appointments. He and his staff are very friendly and made me feel comfortable with my eye surgery. I highly recommend him.

Best Doctor in the Area
Dr. Hi knee responds to your questions and is quick to get you in for procedures. He explains everything in totality . He is very kind and professional. I would refer anyone to needs an eye doctor as he will explain everything and take time with your questions. I highly recommend him.

Excellent, emergent care
I can’t say enough about how thankful I am for Dr. Hickner’s prompt care. I suddenly lost vision in one eye on a Friday afternoon, and by some miracle, Dr. Hickner was able to see me moments after leaving urgent care. He has great bedside manner, he’s comprehensive in his examinations, and goes the extra mile to make sure his patients get excellent care. It’s turns out I have a very rare autoimmune disease called VKH Syndrome, and if it hadn’t been for he and his staff fitting me in and ensuring I got an emergency retina specialist appointment, I doubt I would have as positive of a prognosis. It was a very scary time for me, and Dr. Hickner provided both comprehensive care and reassurance that I was receiving the best treatment possible.

This Dr. exemplifies what an excellent doctor should be, highly knowledgeable, attentive listener, and a very nice person. He is the only doctor that I know who will speak directly on the phone with you. Other DR's should follow his lead. He now practices in Portage, MI. He has helped me tremendously.
