If you value your life or the life of a loved one - do not see this man! Dealing with a rare genetic condition and this man could care less and is so insulting. Doesn't care about treating the condition - just come back in a month is his solution even though he won't remember you and won't bother even looking at your records. Run as fast as you can away from this Dr. - should not be able to practice medicine. Have never been treated so awful by a physician and his nurses

Horrible physician. My daughter has a rare disorder and has trouble absorbing nutrients. She has been to Mayo. We need a local GI. He didn’t listen to anything we said and clearly just didn’t want to deal with a complicated patient. He insulted me and my daughter during the visit. She cried when we got into the car about how mean he was. He made us feel like it was our fault that she had a rare disorder. He said terrible things to us. He should not be practicing.

I've been going to this practice in one location or the other for the past 7-8 years. I originally went to the Liberty location but then switched to the Whitney Ave location because it is closer. I have only ever seen the nurse practitioners at this location, who are fine. Other than that, Dr. Chen did my colonoscopy and spent approximately 5 seconds telling me the result by poking his head around the corner of an office. Zero bedside manner. The NPs here are fine, although over the past few visits I feel as though they've been short and frustrated with me even though I am compliant with treatment, meds, etc. I suppose they are frustrated because I have GI issues that are ongoing and, although not extremely severe, are very uncomfortable to me. On the other hand, the administrative staff are very kind and there are two of the regular nurses that have been fantastic. I am only giving this practice 4 stars because of the staff OTHER than Dr. Chen.

I felt like my thoughts and opinions about my situation went in one ear and right out the other. If doctors won't listen to their patients in order to figure out the problem, what's the point in explaining the symptoms 3 times. I received no information to help my situation. What a waste of time and $$.

Dr. Chen saved my mothers life. When no one else would listen or take action. Dr. Chen was our knight in shining armour. My mom need a fecal transplant for C-Diff. She had lost 40 pounds in three months. My Mom had seen three different specialist. I found Dr. Chen on the internet. One week later she saw him as a new patient. Dr. Chen listened to us, examined my Mom and took immediate action. He did the fecal transplant the next day. He is a wonderful, intelligent and caring physician. Dr. Chen went above and beyond. His staff was also amazing. I can not recommend him enough. The fecal transplant did work and my Mom is on the mend. Praise God.
