Bunionectomy - Excellent Experience
I have a severe bunion on each of my feet. I am currently 16 weeks out from surgery on my left, and everything feels and looks amazing (yes, I have recovery pain, but not the origin pain). Dr. Perlick did an excellent job of explaining the prep, the procedure, what to expect after, etc. All my post op visits were ON-TIME - I don't think I spent more than 20 minutes in the whole building each visit. Dr. Perlick also did an excellent job with the scalpel. This surgery is intricate, and requires destabilizing one of the strongest parts of your foot before repairing it, so the surgery needs to precise as well as strong. My fusion location is undisturbed, and the wound is healed beautifully. It's a tremendous hassle to have this surgery due to the recovery, and have to do my right foot next. I am 100% going right back to Dr. Perlick.

Unbelievable
I had a Bunionectomy. For 48 hours straight I could not sleep due to agonizing pain and ended up having to by ambulance to the hospital for that reason. Roughly 2 weeks later by my second appointment it was discovered a red rash and pain still. It was suspected cellulitis though he did not explicitly say it. (Nonetheless he prescribed antibiotics.). Additionally, according to the notes he wrote that on my prior surgery with a completely different surgeon I had a similar rash which was not true. I am extremely disappointed in that and pray the medication clears this up. I do not appreciate the lack of professionalism and more so fabricating my medical history.

You probably don’t need surgery
I went to him after I fractured my foot a while back playing soccer. Immediately he told me I needed surgery, and if I don’t get surgery, I might have to deal with arthritis in my 20’s, and the possible dislocation of my toes. My mom insisted I get a second opinion so I did. Second doctor actually told me he knows Dr. Perlick and after some prying, he said “he would perform a lot of surgeries that I probably wouldn’t” meaning that Dr. Perlick would recommend surgeries for things that could heal on their own. Doctor 2 said if I wore a boot for 3 weeks I’d be all set. I wasn’t happy with doctor 2 for other reasons, so I got a third opinion. Doctor 3 said I was in a gray area where if I let my foot rest, it would likely heal on its own, but if I push it, I would need surgery. I let it rest and my foot is completely healed. Had I gotten surgery, this would have turned into a way bigger deal than it needed to be.

I had foot surgery that ultimately got infected which was explained as one of the complications. What bothered me was Dr. Perlick blamed me for the infection on multiple occasions. He was super defensive and acted unprofessional.

My 81 year old dad had an appointment for 6.30. He called me at 10.30 to pick him up!!! What is this woman thinking. Can she really expect him to get on a bus that late at night. She doesn't give a hoot. She turns up late and at 5.30 has only seen 3 patients since 3.30! Absolutely disgusting behaviour. I keep telling my dad to change surgery, but he said no matter how long she keeps you waiting, she always sorts you out - fair comment.

I was very disappointed in my visit. Wynn Perlick did not answer my questions and rushed me off. His office also misinformed me as I asked whether he is an in-network provider for my insurance as I wanted a new pair of orthotics made. While his office visit is covered, Perlick told me that he is not in-network for orthotics. I wasted a co-payment and my insurance company wasted their money. The medical center has failed to respond to 3 emails that I sent to them.
