Didn't get better
Telehealth
Only uses a handful of old medications to treat anything and everything even if they aren't affective for you. 'Give it more time' or 'I think we're doing better' are his broken record replies to complaints. This went on for years before I moved on. Claims to practice psychotherapy but if you've been in psychotherapy you'll know he doesn't. I didn't realize how incompetent he was until I left and actually got better with someone else.

Exactly what I needed
Telehealth
I've spent the last five years in Dr. Thorneloe's care, and I always felt heard when it came to my mental health. Psychiatry is not therapy, but he was always attentive to how I was feeling in each session, and what was going on in my life. It felt like we were a team, battling my depression and I felt better knowing he was on my side.

Spot on
I have been going to Dr. Thornloe for seven years. His recommendations are spot on. I think sometimes people get psychiatry mixed up with psychology and with psychotherapy there is a big difference. Dr. Thornloe recommended that I continue my psychotherapy and that is what I have been doing. Recently I was in a mental crisis and my information got all mixed up. Dr. Thornloe worked with me to get everything worked out and now I am back on track. Thank you Dr. Thornloe.

To begin with all sessions suddenly became 30 min after all previous sessions had been hr long. To add insult to injury, this change happened two weeks after my parent died. In the middle of our session (joke’s on me) Dr. T said it’s time to stop. I was outraged and said so. He just looked blankly into the camera. From there we scheduled another appointment for the following week - a one hour session. All of this lead to my discovery of what I consider to be his true colors. At the end of every session he would go over my Rxs, including from other drs. Seems innocent enough right? The reality is it gives him the ability to bill insurance, or you, $135 for a Rx review. This included the second appointment that was six days from the appointment I described above! Do you think my Rxs had changed over the weekend and the remaining four days. See what’s happening here? He’s done more harm than good w me. Kinda of a sad example of the mental health profession.

Do yourself a favor and find another doctor. Just pushed meds, no type of talk therapy or behaviour modification. Very unsympathetic to your condition. Pompous and needs to update himself on the new meds to help his patients. Saw him for one year, no help at all.

Very unprofessional in the way he speaks to his patients. I was in distress and he was very dismissive and rude. He has lost a patient. I would not recommend him to anyone.

He was unwilling to hear family input or answer questions regarding a bipolar patient. He gave a diagnosis of "Psychotic disorder" after one visit that lasted less than 20 minutes.

Tried to switch anxiety medications. When I had serious side-effects including confusion over simple tasks and thoughts, and very troubling thoughts regarding myself and others, his response was an admission that he screwed up the dosage. I'm not giving any credit for admitting to his "whoops." His office is a wreck. Think "Hoarders." Good luck if you have an emergency. This guy leaves his work at the office.

Doesn't listen to patients as to their issue. Changes medications repeatedly, doesn't both to tell you the side effects. Won't help in a crisis situation, just tells you to call 911. Has no backup doctor on duty when he isn't available. Poor practice.
