Great, caring, and thorough G.I. doctor
My first visit with Dr. William Palmer, put me more at ease with his caring and thorough visit that I experienced. After I explained every possible G.I. related problem, I could think of, Dr. Palmer explained every test he prescribed that I should have done and why. When I returned to Mayo Clinic to have Dr. Palmer perform the procedures, again, he was extremely caring, and his gentle attitude made me feel more at ease than I have ever felt before, with any other G.I. doctor that I had seen at 70 years old. In my opinion he is the Best and I am blessed for him to be my G.I. doctor now.

I had been suffering from stomach issues for 3 years, had seen numerous doctors who only kept putting me on different medications. I didn’t feel heard, kept being told to come back in 6-8 weeks and see how I feel, was told it was just “age” or “Ibs” or “constipation”, and I never felt like any of the doctors truly cared that I was in extreme pain every day. Dr. Palmer literally saved me. He is so sharp, listens to you, has gone over all of your records before even meeting you, is completely up to date with your medical history- it was such a pleasant surprise! He immediately wanted to get to the root of the problem and was extremely thorough. After some tests and a few days, we had results and a solution. My previous doctor had tested me for this bacteria I had but failed to test me properly. I highly recommend Dr. Palmer to absolutely anyone who is looking for answers.

Dr. Palmer is thorough and considerate. He listens well and seeks to understand. He is generous in doing a thorough and complete evalation and he has superb follow through. He is personable and takes both his obligation to his patient and his patient's individual needs seriously. I am grateful to have him care for me and I highly recommend him to anyone who needs a gastroenterologist who is creative, intelligent, and devoted.

I saw Dr. Palmer first in summer of 2018 when I was having horrible GI issues and barely able to eat anything at all, as well as rapidly losing a lot of weight. My GI doctors back home couldn’t figure out the issue, but Dr. Palmer went above and beyond getting to the root of the issue! I ended up having a rare disorder that is corrected with surgery, and am doing much better now- but dr. Palmer still follows up with me regarding other GI issues that have popped up, even after only seeing him personally in office last year! You can definitely tell he truly cares for his patients like he would want to be treated as a patient. Finding a GI doctor where I live that doesn’t just put a band-aid on things or accept that I live with horrible GI symptoms with no explanation has been the best, and definitely worth the drive. I am forever thankful I found dr. Palmer and he found my MALS! (The issue I had going on).

I am a very reasonable person and have been to numerous doctors over my life due to my health issues. I went to Mayo Clinic thinking I would find support and compassion. I found the opposite in Dr. William Palmer. I felt like he did not listen to what I was saying AT ALL. He was not kind and was dismissive. I did not feel taken care and will definitely put this in the patient survey they gave me to fill out. Very unfortunate interaction. I would not recommend him to my worst enemy.

Very bad interaction. Not personable or friendly in the slightest. Spoke to me as if I was stupid and uneducated. Would recommend finding another doctor.
