Traumatized
I spent many years seeing Dr. Kilgore and received no help during the time I had seen him. I wanted a 2nd opinion and was told that I would no longer be able to receive services at the facility ever, won’t receive help if I need it despite the 3-4 years and 1000s I spent there. He spent most of the visits minimizing my pain and had vocalized to me how “minor” it was. I felt shamed. I wasn’t getting help. I was on the brink of losing my job because I was losing blood with “no source that could be found” despite a colonoscopy.I found bravery to leave the facility and my new doctor found on the 1st colonoscopy severe UC, possibility of Crohn’s as well needing to refer me to another specialist because I’m showing symptoms of coexisting autoimmune conditions. All of which, I never knew was even a possibility despite vocalizing my symptoms for years. I suffered and spent thousands for nothing. I’m working with a therapist due to medical trauma that came with the experience I had.

Unreliable and irresponsible
I had my colonoscopy scheduled 3 months in advance and 2 business days before my procedure was to take place I was contacted by his office to inform me that the anesthesiologist that worked for or with Dr. Kilgore stated that he want to perform my procedure in a hospital due to my medical (heart) condition. They couldn't do the procedure on the date that they gave me 3 months beforehand. Dr. Kilgore was aware of my heart condition when he scheduled me for the Colonoscopy. He even had me get prior approval from my cardiologist, which I did and 2 days before the procedure the office calls me about concerns of doing it at his facility. Dr. Kilgore having knowledge 3 months in advance and not doing the necessary preparations with a hospital to do the procedure is unprofessional and irresponsible.

Refused to see me
Looking for a new gastro specialist, as I was very unimpressed with my current one. Dr. Kilgore was highly regarded. He refused to see me despite two referrals. Not sure why. Maybe he's ready to retire. Good luck with him, if he agrees to see you.

Wasn't even able to get in. His office refused the referral from the primary Dr. Disappointing at best! If he's supposed to be the best, then why can't he get people in who need him?

Dr. Kilgore and his patient care staff were kind, courteous, and professional. They had calming demeanors and paid attention to specific patient care details. Jamie, the recovery nurse, was especially cheerful and helpful with her clear suggestions for at-home care after my colonoscopy. She prescribed a "day of rest."

I've had several colonoscopies with Dr. Kilgore. The team at Founders Circle on 5/13 was very friendly and knowledgeable, and courteous. Karen, Dr. Levin, Tammy, Ann Marie, Jamie and the receptionists were courteous, and made the experience great after a pre-0p day of yuk!!. Thank you Dr. Kilgore!

I recently had a colonoscopy - Dr. Kilgore and his team at Via Christi Ascension (Stephanie, Andrea, Sherry, Dr. Powell, Tyson, Ann, Kim, Kam) were very professional, friendly and they treated me like a real person, not just another procedure person. I would highly recommend Dr. Kilgore and his team at Via Christi Ascension.

Dr. Kilgore has been my Gastroenterologist since I was 18 when I got diagnosed with UC. He is the only doctor I have recommended to multiple people due to his professionalism, skill, accessibility and sense of humor. On a Sunday afternoon when I tried to refill a Rx and was denied, Dr. Kilgore was paged and called me within 30 minutes to rectify the situation. He even called me back later in the afternoon to make sure I was able to get my Rx. Dr. Kilgore goes the extra mile and far beyond.

I've been seeing Dr. Kilgore for years. Absolutely one of the best doctors around for his specialty. I see Kilgore for yearly check ups as well as yearly upper IG scopes and wouldn't go anywhere else. Listens well and explains everything before any procedures. Would definitely recommend.
