Pompous eye care
Disappointing. Waited over an hour for him to beeeze in, do a perfunctory look-see lasting under a minute, told me I was overreacting despite never having seen me and contrary to my previous retina specialist’s recommendations. He abruptly turned to exit before I could complete a sentence. Wow!

I recently had a routine eye surgery with Dr. William Freeman. During surgery a staph infection invaded the interior of my eyeball causing massive damage that ultimately resulted in blindness. Freeman admitted that I was infected during surgery but said that “it happens” and that I was just “the unlucky one.” My optic nerve is damaged beyond repair. There is no hope of regaining my sight. Freeman called me on the phone to deliver this news rather than telling me in person. He said there was nothing more he could do for me. I was left hanging regarding follow up for ongoing medications and had to find another doctor to help me. A second opinion confirmed the prognosis. Shiley has not responded to my request for assistance in dealing with the treatment I received from Freeman and the infection I contracted in their operating room. Freeman continually ran very late, rushed appointments, avoided discussion and questions. His patient skills are deplorable, arrogant, abrupt.

Not a good doctor. He never listens to what you have to say and walks out the room before you can even formulate a question. Doesn’t show any care about your condition and takes reckless decisions. For example, told me to get surgery when it wasn’t necessary at all, this caused me to lose over 80 percent of vision. Note, I still need more surgery to fix the damage.
