Went in for autonomic testing. Test came back positive for dysautonomia but yet he concludes I don’t have it. What gives? I couldn’t even get to ask thorough questions because the follow up was through the Mayo portal. His medical notes are also full of inaccuracies. Regret traveling and wasting my time going to see him.

Amazing doctor!
Dr. Cheshire was amazing! He listened to my concerns, ordered the tests I requested, and was very compassionate and kind. He provided me with a diagnosis, treatment plan, and answered all my questions. He’s an excellent doctor who you can tell really cares for his patients!

Great doctor who listened to all issues and reviewed many tests done across various medical areas I have had with no results. This was my 2nd time seeing him, and he did many tests and referrals to many other doctors at Mayo Clinic. After almost 6 years, I finally found out what is going on with me and it would not have happened without Dr. Cheshire leading the charge to help me. His reports are very detailed and quickly available post visit. He also analyzes his patients and asks uncommon questions etc, which I think is brilliant to pick up on neurological signs from interactions and not all discussion from patient. I do not understand some reviews complaining about additional testing etc, as this is Mayo Clinic.. and if you are like me and needed to go as a last resort, you do not care about cost and will do what it takes to attempt to get better. I have the upmost respect for Dr. Cheshire, and Mayo Clinic will be the only medical team I will ever use in the future.

Kind and listened
The doctor listened and responded to my questions in a way I could understand. Very kind and a real gentleman so I don’t understand some of the other comments (which seem to be the same ‘voice’). It’s a specialty that deals with difficult medical issues, pain, strokes, etc., so maybe it was by someone not coming to terms with their own health issue.

Dismissive, arrogant, generally lacking all around
Dont waste your time at the famed mayo clinic. Go to the autonomic centers anywhere else. If youre going to travel for health care you probably shouldn't waste your time going to the bible belt of all places in the world and expecting adequate care

Good listener, but just because he works for Mayo doesn't mean quality care. He told us he would order lab test for B-12 and B-6, which he did, and WITHOUT telling us ordered almost $2,000 of additional labs! When checking out we also found out that he was trying to get us scheduled with other Mayo departments that had not even been discussed! Fortunately, we turned those down. Don't be fooled by his "nice" disposition, this guy is not to be trusted!!

My daughter saw Dr. Cheshire and we were very pleased with the experience. He listened attentively and asked many probing questions to identify the causes behind her diagnosis. He also ran additional tests and gave her a referral to a cardiologist to rule out other possibilities. My daughter has seen many specialists over the years, and I feel that he is among the best - very thorough. I could see that he wanted to see the big picture. Many other neurologists just want to prescribe pain meds.

I saw Dr Cheshire for dysautonomia (POTS) diagnosed by 3 other doctors. Dr Cheshire said nothing to my face other than how my clothes matched, and asked many questions related to my psyche (ex What do you talk about, did you have goals before you got sick, how do your dogs feel about you not walking them?). In his notes, he accused me of confirming something that was completely untrue, and said that I continue to believe I have POTS and don't. Maybe he should ask the 3 drs who insist I have POTS

He spent an hour with me, going over my symptoms, listening, evaluating me, and taking notes. He was reassuring. He made a recommendation for surgery. He made me feel hopeful for improvement in my condition.

I was referred to Dr Cheshire specifically for autonomic testing due to long term symptoms and their onset. The Dr's not only misquoted me several times in his report, but instead of actively listening to my issues, he literally counted how many rings were on my fingers and the fact that I have a piercing and tattoos, and he put that info in the report. Even though I have a history of optic neuritis and a ton of other chronic issue with no known cause, his only advice to me was to exercise.
