Wonderful Doctor and Surgeon
I have been a patient of Dr. Brown's for over 35 years. When I have seen him in his office, he is never rushed and always listens and answers any questions I may have. Dr. Brown will review your MRI himself and explain what he sees going on the the spinal area. He will then give opinions and projections of treatment, allowing open conversation. He has helped me greatly over the years.

Dr Brown has been my surgeon since the 90's and there is simply no other surgeon like him! 3 back fusions and 1 cervical fusion later..he is the only one I trust. He is simply a brilliant diagnostician, very conservative in his treatments and honest in his opinions always.

Disappointed
I’ve been waiting for months for this appointment with Dr Brown and then found out this morning, I was scheduled to see his assistant, not him. I live over an hour away, left with an extra 45min of time to make sure I was early and then got stuck on a highway that was closed down. I called the office to let them know I was going to be 15-20 minutes late and they said they’d make a note of it. I continued my journey only to be turned away because I was 20 minutes late instead of 15 minutes late. It’s all very disappointing as I’m dealing with severe pain and hoping to find a solution. Now I have to wait 2 months for another appointment. They should have told me when I called that they wouldn’t see me if I was late. But on top of all that, I didn’t find out I wasn’t even going to get to see the actual doctor until this morning. She said they had over 150 patients scheduled for today and that I would only see the assistant. I’m going to look for another doctor.

Dr. Brown has performed two spinal cord surgeries and a brain surgery. Oh me to remove tumors. I would highly recommend him. He is a caring individual, listens to what the patient has to say, and seeks to find the best possible solutions to problems for the patient. My biggest fear with Dr. Brown is that he will retire, and I will have to find a new neurosurgeon after 14 years with him.

I have been seeing Dr. Brown since approx. 2008. He has done 3 cervical spine surgeries on me. I have a history of Systemic MRSA from 2006. My spine was damaged. Dr. Brown has been very thorough, kind, and compassionate. He takes all of the time needed for my office visits. I never feel rushed. Dr. Brown is referred to as the best neurosurgeon in North Carolina by my former pain management doctor that now lives at the coast. I totally agree and I am so fortunate to have Dr. Brown continuing to follow up with me regularly. The office staff is great too. Very friendly!

Dr. Brown performed my second spinal fusion after I had a terrible first experience with a surgeon in another state that resulted a non-union. This was rare, as I was 22 at the time, and I was nervous to undergo another big surgery. He was kind, compassionate, and so funny that all my fears were put at ease. I have NEVER had a problem with my surgical site, and it was by far the best surgical experience I have ever had. He is the first doctor I call when something feels wrong and he is always willing to help. I agree that his staff are not as stellar as him. Some are dismissive and a bit cold, but others get to know you and choose to care. Be prepared to wait in the lobby for a bit, but it is because he takes a significant amount of time with each patient to make sure that they feel comforted and cared for. He is worth the wait!

I could not be more satisfied. Dr. Brown has performed two spinal surgeries on me. One was to remove a tumor which would have paralyzed me and another was to remove a bone spur which was very painful. Dr. Brown is the most intelligent physician I have ever known. I recommend him highly.

Dr. Brown has performed four surgical procedures on me. Two on my spine with a fusion, and two for carpal tunnel. Both spine procedures greatly improved my quality of life. Dr Brown talks to you in a way that you understand your condition. He has a great sense of humor and bedside manner. I love this man!

I love Dr Brown! He is a wonderful surgeon and has performed three surgeries on me due to herniated disc. I would recommend anyone who needs any type of neuro/spinal surgery. His office staff however leaves much to be desired. Very rude and unprofessional with the exception of a few.
