I have been a patient of Dr. Payne for over 20 years. He has always taken the time to listen, then ask questions about any problems I may be experiencing. I see him twice a year for bloodwork and a checkup and have no difficulty in getting an appointment when I am sick. His staff is also helpful, kind, and very thorough.

For many years I have seen Dr Payne was always pleased but the last time I told him my head was hurting on my crown when I asked what was wrong he shouted I don't know and was going to call an ambulance I begged him to allow my husband to take me he said okay I went to wait for my husband in the waiting room when a gentleman three times in a span of not even 5 minutes apart ask me if my husband was here yet I finally wind up waiting in Food City parking lot don't understand UT diagnosed me with vertigo and I had to go too many therapy appointments and I never even got a call from Payne office

Dr Payne is an old burnt out Dr. .. I tested positive for an auto immune disease and in severe pain . Prednisone helps tremendously .. went to him to ask for more ... maybe he thought I meant pain meds or something I don’t know .. i May have said “you have to give me” he said “ i don’t HAVE to do anything “.. we had an argument and I walked out . He’s burnt out go to another Doctor . I heard DR Moore is very good but he doesn’t take my ins. Long story short , he’s burnt out and doesn’t care imo.

His waiting room is full of elderly patients. I have had years of experience with two of his patients, my uncle and my father. You can tell when you take them to see him, he does the bare minimum, that because they are elderly he doesn't care, just waiting on them to kick the bucket while taking their money. He promises things, then he never follows through, but he continues to take their money. You can tell he is burnt out on his profession.

Very intelligent & compassionate. Listened. Treated me as a person, not a symptom. Very knowledgeable about treatment , yet conservative & thoughtful. Great Doctor.
