Very rude and unprofessional. Asked me why I was there but not in a helpful doctor kind of way. More like an I don’t want to help you kind of way. Had he taken 10 seconds to review my paperwork maybe he would’ve know that but instead he made me feel like I was wasting his time for being there because he “won’t touch tumors” even though I was referred by a different doctor. I have had wonderful experiences with every other physician or physician assistant I have encountered at Tanner Clinic but this one is a Grade A jerk!

Dr. Madsen is the most uncaring, arrogant doctor I have ever met. He doesn’t listen, is condescending and rushes through the appointment. My knee is worse now than before he did my meniscus surgery 6 months ago. I will never go back to him or recommend him to anyone.

Total knee replacement in November 2017. Excellent surgeon. My surgery went well. Post surgery went well. Was very concerned about my knee. He’s not a warm and fuzzy doctor, but I have a lot of respect and confidence in his work.

My Wrist, (Distal radius and Ulnar) was broken in an automobile accident. The break wasn't severe enough that I absolutely had to get surgery. Dr Madsen explained the pros and cons of healing with and without surgery. I wanted the option of surgery because it offered a more reliable outcome. It has been close to six months since. I have nearly all of the range of motion back. It does get a bit stiff and sore from time to time, but that is expected. Over all I am happy with my results.

I scheduled a surgery for my left knee for May 8. The surgery scheduler got me to do her work in getting my surgery approved. She still managed to take me off my original surgery date. When panicking after I found out, I tried to get them to help me. They wouldn't, said they couldn't, Madsen wouldn't talk to me either. I had to call the Patient Advocate at Tanner Clinic. No help there either. Madsen is a good surgeon, horrible bedside manner. Pretty arrogant. I went somewhere else.

His bedside manner is terrible. He seemed uninterested in the pain I am experiencing, never cracked a smile, and seemed almost dismissive. Ordered some tests and insisted on a follow up appointment that lasted all of a few minutes and could easily have been done by phone.

Doctor Madsen seemed only slightly interested in finding why I was in so much pain in my leg, and after he was through and leaving, I had to remind him to prescribe some pain medication, which was very costly, and had absolutely no effect. I do not recommend him. I have been a Tanner Clinic patient for 60 years, and this is the only bad experience here.

Suffered with severe knee pain in both knees for over 5 years. Had total knee replacement on first knee in October. It did so well I had Dr. Madsen do the second one 10 weeks later. I am now free of pain and able to do the physical activities I used to do. Dr. Madsen is quite serious and doesn't come across as outgoing, at first, but he knows his stuff. I felt 100% confidence in his knowledge and skill every step of the way. If your main objective is a great surgical outcome, see Dr. Madsen.
