No time, effort or compassion
Dr. Newell was sharing my breast biopsy results for breast cancer. She basically handed me a printout and told me to read it. I had a list of several questions I had prepared but she didn't have the time to answer them. She handed me a pamphlet with breast cancer.org website. So l basically had to use the website to look up how to interpret my pathology report since she didn't go through any of the information with me or what it meant. No time and little effort. Thank god I have decided to go to the Washington DC area for my breast cancer surgery and treatment from a competent group of compassionate, caring doctors. The treatment at Bayhealth was terrible.

Very caring and sincere.
For more years than I can count Dr. Newell has been caring for and performing Biopsies on my fibrocystic breast tissue, when necessary, and I cannot thank her enough. She is always honest and fast with the results. Her team is wonderful also. I trust her with my life. Literally.

Impatient, poor communicator and lacking in empath
Everyone I met at Dr. Newell’s office was kind and gracious except for Dr. Newell. I was shocked, disappointed and disturbed by her impatience, almost rude communication skills and total lack of empathy. This has been disheartening for me and if other patients are treated the same way I am also sad for them. What happens to make a healer become so distant and lacking in empathy?

horrible. Didn't even wash her hands. Acted like she was in too much of a hurry to talk to me. Had PA who didn't wash hands either examine me and say "oh, you've got cancer."

horrible technique on biopsy. Did not wait for lidocaine to take effect. Couldn't get into the lesion and was fishing for it resulting in a huge hematoma. Had the PA tell me pathology results: "you've got cancer. Come back and talk to the doctor" (to collect another $40 copay)

Late, unprepared, disrespectful and condescending. Waited over 1 hour to spend 5 minutes with her. Only to repeat what the radiologist said.

She's awesome! Very down to earth and easy to talk to. I love how soft spoken she is and I never felt like she was just doing her job. If I ever have to have surgery again I will definetely request her for sure!
