ignored pain symptoms, no repair failed hardware
My wife fell and broke her femur at the hip. When the repair failed, she was assigned to Dr Leclair to remedy the failure. He did not repair the failure. He only focused on the healing of the ball of the femur, ignoring the misaligned joint, loose plate, and pain also felt at the knee. He seemed to be semi-retired because he took vacation every third week. This meant she was in chronic pain for 4 months while he slowly took more x-rays, checked for infection, and did more re-evaluations. Eventually we went to Beth Israel hospital in Boston, where she saw Dr Wixted, who scheduled her for surgery 10 days after the visit. Wixted found that the joint was misaligned and would be very painful when moved. He also discovered the source of the knee pain was that the fall had damaged her replacement knee joint so it was now causing pain in the surrounding tissues. We would not recommend Dr Leclair or UMass Memorial in Worcester for any orthopedic work.

I love Dr. LeClair. I was in an accident in 1998, and shattered both legs and a hip, all in my joints. Ive had several surgeries by Dr. LeClair on those injuries to correct on going problems that arose as a result. He is professional, and spent as much time as I needed explaining my issues. I will be sad when he retires, because I know he has helped so many get better, including my daughter after she had a bad break. He is the best, and I highly recommend him.

I had fallen and drove my left shoulder socket into my chest. Socket broke into about 6 pieces. Luckily the ball was intact. It took weeks to find someone able and willing to work on my shoulder. It was a mess. After almost 7 hours of surgery and a tuff night I was able to go home late the next day. After coming for a follow up visit 2 weeks later. I had the staples removed but my are was stiff. At this point he told me I would be considered 100% disabled. But I'm not and working 95%+++
