Dr. Crittenden called me the night before my surgery to find out if I had questions or concerns. He was friendly, professional and reassuring. The day of surgery, he came to my room early, checked to see if I was comfortable and calm (I was not calm, which he took care of) and personally took me to the operating room. He was a warm presence, giving me some comfort. I felt like at least I knew someone. He stayed at my side until I was awake after surgery, spoke to me kindly before leaving.
