Love Dr. Zaid but not his staff
He was the only oral surgeon who would take my insurance but the office staff was rude and would not give me any information until they received the referral. I felt so bad after asking for other referrals be sent already I was just trying to call everyone. Once they finally got my referral they gave me an appointment. The dental student at the time who saw us first was nice but had obviously never worked with children or seen what she had before. Dr. Zaid was so amazingly nice and knowledgeable when he came in after the student and he wanted to do my 3 year olds surgery at OLOL children’s hospital and was so fast and precise there and again great bedside manner answering all my tons of questions and not rushing me.

My first visit was perfect. But the second visit was a disaster. Dr. Zaid basically told me that after reconstruction my quality of life would be zero. I should get a trach and a peg tube and just go home. He also told me there was no need to call MD Anderson because they wouldn't take my insurance, I wasted a precious 2 months with this doctor. I called MD Anderson and within a week I had 6 appts, 3 with the dr.s assigned to me and 3 for some tests. I found him to be a very dishonest man.

Wonderful Dr.
He was extremely nice and compassionate, yet honest and straight forward about my condition and prognosis which I appreciated that very much.

Contrary to the positive experiences of others, I found Dr. Zaid and his staff to be extremely non-communicative to a level I have never experienced from any other doctor or staff. The staff never opens their totally obscure glass windows, even to register new arrivals and there are never any calls to confirm appointments or surgeries. My experience was so negative from start to finish that I cannot believe this is anything but a continual behavior.
