Big No
Dr Obrien dismissed me from carilion clinic psychiatry for missed appointments and refused phone appointments. I have severe social anxiety, agoraphobia and panic disorder. This was extremely damaging to my mental health and I have now been without care or meds for over a year. I can’t find care because carilion is the largest provider in my area. Instead of care she delivered cruelty.

Listens but does NOT hear what you say! Made a near fatal error with a patient I happened to meet. She will tell you she has ran out of ideas and have you try things that didn’t work in The past AGAIN. I believe she just doesn’t like her job. Wish I could say better..

A passionate shepherd
She is outstanding in her position and role. Her care of support, attentiveness, feedback, very well mannered and humble. One cannot go wrong with her helping to get back on track or explore opportunities for a new path. Not enough stars.

Dr. O’Brien saved my life. She listened and figured out what was wrong with me when nobody else had ever taken me seriously. Yes- wait times are often long and the office staff can have a bad attitude, but the services Dr. O’Brien provides makes dealing with them more than worth it.

This is one of the best doctors EVER! I had some serious issues and needed someone to listen with a caring heart and she was the best. I still have follow up with her for medication regulation. I am in my middle 60's and never thought I needed a psychiatrist but I was wrong. She will give you her undivided attention and help you in any way she can. 1. She is caring. 2. She knows her job. 3. She is honest and open with you. 4. She is always on time and we spend our entire appt. time discussing issues that have occurred since the last visit. 5. Go to see her, you will not be sorry you did.

Very Thankful – Nov 26, 2020

Maybe she has treated other patients with respect and concern for their privacy, safety and health but that has not been my experience with her clinic. I will not guess at the reason or reasons for the dreadful experience but it has been very disturbing and very unhealthy. Traumatic would be the term I would use to describe it.
