Dr. Victoria Lau, DO

Dr. Lau has been a wonderful addition to the community and I am grateful for the knowledge and care that she provides. She addresses all of my concerns in a caring and thoughtful manner and recommends health plans that align with my needs. I can't ask for a better primary care physician.

I recently saw Dr. Lau at her primary care clinic..great experience. Knowledgeable, attentive, and listened to my concerns. She was thorough when going through all possible diagnostics, and I felt like I was able to get all my questions answered.

I have been a patient at One Medical for several years with the very competent and compassionate primary care provider Dr. Marcus. When Dr. Marcus left One Medical I switched to Dr. Lau. Provided that Dr. Marcus was exceptionally good I didn't have the expectation that the next provider will be as stellar. Sadly Dr. Lau turned out to be the worst possible primary care physician for me at my ripe age. And over time I had several. I am not the person who is neurotic about her health, but would like to continue being healthy at my ripe age. It appears that Dr. Lau missed all the talk in the field about the importance of collaborative decision-making, and her favorite response is "no" without listening and validating or even trying to understand my concerns. Any physician who believes that he/she knows better than a patient and is "the guru" and fails to listen IMHO can not be effective, the challenges of the field not withstanding.
