Excruciating pain in my right ankle in the achilles. Spent less than 5 minutes with me to tell me surgery or a steroid shot. Asked minimal questions and seemed that his 4 minutes was more than enough. Please search elsewhere for a doctor who can spend more time with you….and at least seems to care…..

I had a mild ankle injury that was keeping me from my favorite hobby, tennis. I suspected a stress fracture but needed to know for sure if I should continue resting. Before meeting the doctor, they gave me an x ray. Dr. Vargas then came in and asked some questions, physically examined my ankle, and showed me the problem on the x ray. He suspected a stress fracture but needed an MRI to confirm the diagnosis. He told me to continue resting until we get the MRI results back. I was really happy with the whole experience. I appreciated that Dr. Vargas had reviewed my symptoms before my appointment and had an x ray lined up. He was friendly, professional, and efficient. I was in and out in about an hour and 15 minutes. I look forward to my final MRI, diagnosis, and recommended treatment - which I suspect will be more rest.

Dr. Vargas is exceptionally well educated, well spoken, engaging, answers all questions, easily relieves all anxieties by explaining what the problem is and the options available to remedy the condition. OrthoArkansas is always my first choice for any injuries. Doctors are exceptionally well informed and excellent surgeons should it be required.

Dr. Vargas was very professional and listened to all my concerns. This is my second visit and second injection. The first steroid injection was in my hip and the last one was in my shoulder. Both were pain free during the procedure. Dr. Vargas did an amazing job from the beginning to the end. He was very reassuring and concerned about my pain level. I highly recommend Dr. Vargas!

I had problems with shoulder replacement surgery and was referred to him by my surgeon to remove fluid from my shoulder. After waiting 1 hour past my appointment time I encountered a young short nurse that was neither friendly or helpful. She identified herself as his surgical nurse and she really needs a reprimand for being hateful. Must have chip on her shoulder. I then waited another hour in the exam room. Dr. Vargas seemed detached and hard to understand. I don't recommend him and will ask to see another Dr next time.

Sprained thumb in household incident. Properly diagnosed and discussed options for treatment. Took time to explain the injury and why treatment vital to longterm health of thumb. Dr. Vargus is easy to talk to and ask questions.

After carefully listening to my somewhat complex complaint about knee and upper leg pain Dr Vargas conducted an exam and explained the results of X-ray imaging taken minutes before our consultation. He explained that the X-ray revealed osteoarthritis in the knee and suggested a conservative approach of a steroid injection and effusion of about 40 ml of excessive knee fluids for today's visit. He suggest a follow up visit to see how my other issue, possibly involving spinal stenosis, might resolve prior to taking further action which made good sense to me. This was my first steroid injection and I knew that they can involve some pain and discomfort. I was astounded that both the injection and effusion procedure were both quite painless for me and I put that down to Dr Vargas's skill. I will look forward to the next consultation with Dr Vargas in about 3 weeks. 24 hours after the procedure I have had no discomfort at all at the injection site.

VERY KNOWLEDGEABLE, FRIENDLY

The most uncaring, cold, jerk of a doctor. Treated me like I'm some drug addiction looking for pills. Had a MRI and he never even talked to me about it. Basically said I'm getting old and I need to be more careful. Terrible bedside manner. In fact.....he and absolute jerk! Had 230 appointment was the VERY last patient or employee. Dr Vargas spent maybe 4 minutes and never explained the mri. Just that I am getting old (47) IF I COULD GIVE 0 STARS I WOULD!
