Rude staff and aloof doctor
Dr. Thomas can not be bothered with his patients and cares far more about his shoes than anyone or anything else. He lets his degenerate staff do all the work and then comes in for about 2 seconds for a look before he starts charting to get you out. It wasn’t until I commented on the brand of his shoes before he paid real attention to me. We had a longer conversation about his sneakers than we had about my eyes or treatment plan. I decided not to go back since it took me over an hour just to make a second appointment. And when I got on the phone with the lady, she was extremely rude. I will be finding another doctor. Do yourself a favor and skip this place.

Nice Dr but no regard for patients time
Waited 45 minutes in waiting room with no notice the Dr was running 1 hour late. No one thought to tell me so I could reschedule but they did take my money as soon as I checked in.

Wrong Diagnosis
Thomas diagnosed me with dry macular degeneration. A doctor at Florida Eye Clinic said he was wrong. I did not have macular degeneration. Stay away!

Cured chronic dry/irritated eye syndrome
Visited numerous ophthalmologists in Central Fl who did not have the knowledge to treat dry/irritated eye syndrome. Discovered Dr. Thomas and Dr. Auerbach at Eye Physicians of Central Florida are empathetic, expert in this area. They have the means to test, measure and the ability to treat dry eye. I did not have severe issue, but, daily discomfort until their treatment. Dr. Thomas suggested I be tested for allergies, food intolerances (an allergist discovered the root cause). Dr. Thomas insisted I maintain daily eyelid cleaning, which eliminated inflammation, and has treated (now v. rare) bouts of more severe symptoms. He changed my life. I no longer have irritated, bloodshot eyes. The practice is busy, but v. professional. Grateful!

Have been examined by Dr. Victor Thomas yearly for the past 7 years. Wait times are between 25 and 45 minutes. This doctor is extremely busy and always in "hyper" mode, providing less and less time for questions and the patient. He is not looking at you when answering questions but typing the visits results, thus not providing proper answers. If a question is asked that he thinks is not "intelligent", he'll look at you with a "smart" (not friendly) remark. Unfortunately, I'll will search for another Ophthalmologist.

If you have any other competent eye physicians in your network, I would investigate using them instead of Dr. Thomas and Eye Physicians of Central Florida. While Dr. Thomas may be competent, his office staff is extremely problematic. Here are a couple of the most serious issues I ran in to during my treatment for cataracts in both eyes. They initially told me they would use an ambulatory surgery center for my surgeries. They quoted me a physician fee and provided an estimate of what the ambulatory surgery center would charge. After I agreed to move forward with the surgery, they told me that it would have to be performed in a hospital for double the price of the ambulatory care center. Several weeks after the cataract in my left eye was removed, I received a bill for Dr. Thomas services that was more than 30% higher than the price quoted. There is a lot more I could complain about but with these specific examples, you have been forewarned.

Waited 90 mins after my eyes were dilated for Dr. Thomas to see me. I was in the office on time and was there a total of 2 1/2 hours for a routine check up! He finally came in and spent approx 5 minutes with me and did not not communicate with me the difference in my new glasses prescription from my previous year. Was rude and rushed me thru! Not very professional in the fact that I waited so long to be rushed! Will not be returning to him! Very arrogant when approached about my issue. I work in the medical field myself, and find this very unprofessional.... too many other great doctors in the area to give him my business! Also, good luck with the Doctors office. Wait time when calling is over 30 minutes!

I visited the MetroWest Facility, and was met with Dr. Thomas and his entire staff, who was very friendly, courteous, and very professional. For my very first visit there they make me feel right at home. Jeanette the office staff, a very warm and friendly young woman explained everything to me. Juan and Katherine the technicians were so exceptionally great at there respective tasks, while making me feel very comfortable. Dr. Thomas is very knowledge and knows how to interact with his patients.

I experienced some vision flashing and floaters over a weekend and Dr. THOMAS was the Dr. on call. He called me back immediately, listened to my concerns, put me at ease with what was happening and told me to come in the following day, Monday, before office hours so he could see me. Dr. THOMAS was not my regular eye doctor so I didn’t know what to expect. He was awesome. I saw him a second time a week later and received another exam and instructions for future issues. I could not be happier.

Dr Thomas is very professional. He explained everything carefully in order to make sure you understand what is going on with you. Office staff is friendly and very professional. I would highly recommend dr. Thomas. But I was disappointed when I checked out. I paid for the visit $20 in cash but I did not get any receipt. When I asked for, I got the answer that: “....... you paid in cash......” I was very surprised.

Now three hours post Chalazion removal surgery. I was pretty nervous about the process and made the mistake of reading a bunch of folks comment on it. Dr. Thomas was outstanding. Great bedside manner. Explained everything before and as he was doing it. Sensitive to not show any gruesome looking equipment. From cut to close 3min. Injxn was less painful than dentist numbing. The whole thing was painless and only min. uncomfortable fantastic and wouldn't hesitate to refer him to anyone
