Office staff horrible, can't get response
As a Type 1 insulin-dependent diabetic, I was nearly out of insulin pump supplies. I made a request 3 times for the prescription to be filled, had Medtronic, my pump supplier resend the script twice, & let office staff know the urgency of request each time. I made a request of another physician finally, but as my primary physician, I called Dr. Shada's office, spoke to the nurse and requested protocols to transition from pump therapy to SHOTS as my supplies would not arrive in time. Each of my requests were acknowledged on the phone & to my husband in person but then IGNORED. Fortunately, the other physician's staff moved quickly. I later learned from Medtronic that Dr. Shada's office sent in the prescription approval a MONTH after the request. They NEVER answered my request for protocols for using shots. The staff has been given way too much authority & this neglect has been repeated in differing situations. I feel for patients that don't know to stand up for their needs.

Poor respose to Covid
On Tuesday I woke up dizzy and weak. My temperature was 100-101 range after multiple checks. On the last check I was so dizzy I had to lay down on the floor for a half hour. Got up and did a test for Covid – positive. Called Dr. Shada’s office in the afternoon. Receptionist ask what my problem was and I told her I home tested positive for Covid. She put me on hold for approx. 11 minutes then came back and asked my who I was waiting for. Told her again about the positive test and she said they would call in a prescription. I asked if I should come in and was told that the home test was accurate enough. Here’s the issue: Nobody ever asked about how I felt, what my symptoms were, if I had a fever, if I was in any distress or if I felt I should see the doctor. I never even spoke to a healthcare professional, only the telephone receptionist. I’ve been going to Dr. Shada for about 9 years with routine minor health issues but now I have no confidence that Dr. Shada’s practice would be re

None of his staff or dr. Shada wore masks on a recent visit. This happened when Corona virus cases were still very high. They did not insist that patients wore masks either. I need to find a new doc.

This is my new primary doctor who will not accept me because I take alprazolam and tramadol. Since when does a doctor not make an appointment for you because you're on certain medications? Now I have to start all over again with my insurance and I'm ill.

First of all I would like to say that I have served my country for 41 years, 13 years in the military and 28 with the DOA. I was wounded twice and in three helicopter crashes in Vietnam. I have had 15 major surgeries because of my injuries. Dr. Shada refused to see me because I take Diazapam for my muscle spasms from my neck surgeries!

Today we counted ourselves as fortunate as we began seeing Dr. Shada. He is no nonsense in his approach to healthcare, and despite being super smart at it, he is polite enough to Really listen to you. Some docs get so uppity, it's like all you are to them is a number. Not so with this quality practioner! I've worked in medicine for over 24 years and this doctor is top shelf!

I visited Dr. Shada on 01/04/17 and he took no tests but asked if I had been on an antibiotic in the past 30 days and I said yes. Without knowing the cause he put me on an RX for 30 days and I told him their was no improvement. For 2 months he did nothing so I went to the ER 3 times. He did nothing. I had a EDG done and found I had H-Phylori probably since January. I'm now going to a GI Specialist which I feel he should have referred me to months ago. It is June and have found many GI problems.

Began seeing Dr Shada after an extremely bad experience with another physician's local office. I had made 2 trips to Cumberland Medical emergency and 1 trip to Cookeville regional for emergency back surgery and had never been contacted by that office despite repeated calls during this period of time. My now three year experience with Dr Shada and his staff truly exceeds all my expectations. Reachable,Professional,Effective and Engaging.

Dr. Shada is by far the best doctor I have ever had. Due to several immune disorders & a very rare disease as well as several moves, I have had an overabundance of doctors. I was excited to move to Crossville, but I dreaded having to find yet another new doctor. I figured I'd end up having to make long drives to Knoxville or Nashville. I met a gal at the Wellness Center & told her of my fear of finding a doctor. She highly recommended Dr. Shada. He & his staff have exceeded my expectations.
