Did not feel valued as a patient
I was transferred to Dr. Guel after Dr Jacob left and have had nothing but the worst experience each time. First time I waited about two hours and a half and the visit felt rushed. Second time I waited the same time and then only saw her NP who came in and stated the reason for my visit which in fact was not my reason for my visit. She obviously didn’t take time to understand why I was there. I had a test run and waited days until I finally called and left a message only to be called back with results as they had them for who knows how long and didn’t bother to call me back when they had them or next step for why I’m having the pain I have l. Makes me feel like they just do not care. Each experience has been terrible and worse each time. I gave it chance after chance but am currently looking for another doctor. They should not take on more patients if they cannot provide the best care and value them.

Worth the wait
Dr. Guel has my doctor for nearly 20 years. Sadly, our first experience together was a pregnancy of mine that ended in a stillbirth. This was in no way her fault, at all, I want to make that clear. I could point fingers at the nurses who failed to report my changing conditions to my doctor, leaving her completely unaware. As far as Dr. Guel goes, I love her with all my heart and fully trust her with my life, children, and grandchildren. There's many comments complaining about wait times, which are lengthy. In her defense, I say, if you know the time Dr. Guel is willing to invest in a patient, listening to them, reassuring them, then maybe you will understand why wait times are lengthy. The same attentiveness she gives to you when you get her in your room, is the same attentiveness all of her patients get. I say she is worth the wait, because I know without a doubt that the lengthy wait time has nothing to do with her a lack of caring, it's because she cares enough to listen.

Since I'd been a patient, I had to grow used to long wait times and difficulties getting in for an appointment. Recently I've had to get on an antidepressant for PPD, and was told to call her nurse if I had any issues. I began having terrible side effects and began having suicidal thoughts - five phone calls and two messages to her nurse later, I STILL had no callback and no answers. I really liked Dr. Guel, but have to find a new PCP due to inability to get an appointment or a consultation over the phone about the medication THEY put me on.

I have been with Dr G under 4 yesrs. I always wait in office for scheduled appts 1-2.5 hours. Often waiting a month to get a scheduled appt. Lab results are never called to me (good vs bad) and when I've requested to have them mailed to me for my records I am ignored. I schedule an appointment for a minor issue and it 23 days past the appointment still did not have a medication to treat the condition I went to the doctor for My experience is that she or her staff really do not care about me.
