Dr. Varun Malik, DO

Thought he was an empathetic provider until he spent the whole visit talking to me about starting weight loss meds. Didnt even acknowledge that my “overweight” could be due in part that I recently delivered a baby and also neglected to acknowledge that I have a longstanding history of disordered eating. The “physical” was just listening to heart and lungs and being told I’m overweight. Really sad and disappointed.

Not only did this practice 'lost' my records (claiming they moved to a different operating system), but when I specifically contacted the doctor for a refill, that remained unanswered. I had to leave on vacation without my refill per the office's irresponsible way of treating me. Today, when I finally had my physical, after the practice's prior error in scheduling, I received a call saying he was sick. The replacement came in late. I was left to stay in that exam room for more than 25 minutes without even one single nurse or medical staff to come and check on me and accurately give me updates when the doctor would come. Prior disappointments re: this doctor was when he prescribed me a pill that I refused to take because I know my body and I refuse to take a pill a day without looking first and subsequently exhausting all possibilities. When I explained my POV he was rather arrogant, 'know-it-all' kind of attitude. So, if you can avoid this doctor and the entire practice, please do. :-(

Dr. Malek is consistent, kind, always prepared, and has gone above and beyond every time. I have been a patient of his for several years now and he always acts quickly and thoroughly. He is a doctor that really cares and has the knowledge to do so. Beyond recommend him to anyone looking for a great physician.
