Great caring doctor
She handled all of my mom’s issues for 3 years and helped my mom make the most of those years. I have referred others to her!! Very caring, took her time and spoke to my mom, not me which my mom soo appreciated. We had an emergency situation with a nursing home and she fit us in and I believe saved my mom’ life

I consulted with Dr. Acevedo and found her and her entire staff to be caring, kind, considerate and thorough. It is rare for me to recommend any doctor to friends or family, but I would make an exception in this case, and definitely recommend Valerie Acevedo.

DO NOT TRUST THIS DOCTOR! She told me that I would benefit from seeing a psychiatrist because it’s “all in my head!” Can you believe that?! Thank goodness we got a second opinion!! From a real and caring, better educated doctor who took me seriously. Come to find out, it wasn’t all in my head... I had Presudotumor Cerbri! It’s basically having all the symptoms of a brain tumor without a tumor present to treat. It’s a terrible, life altering disease that causes Papilledema (optic nerve swelling) which can lead to being permanently blind. The disease causes too much CSF in my brain and spine. It causes so much intracranial pressure pain and severe migraines. I was so bad off that after we got the results from my lumbar puncture to check my CSF pressure, I was admitted right then and there to help me with the pain and to see if I needed a VP shunt placed in my brain and stomach to help drain the excess fluid. If I only listen to Dr. Acevedo, I would have gone blind! Do NOT GO TO HER!!

Long story short she ordered bloodwork and an MRI. Went in a week later, she hardly looked at the results, seemed very distant, deer-in-the-headlights look and I think she forgot I am who I was! It was like she was on something. Anyway, she didn’t want to do anything or look into my migraines more, nor my crippling back pain and vision problems. We got a second opinion and thank God we did! Turns out I have Intracranial Hypertension! Left untreated, I would go blind! Among other things! Smh

I was referred to Dr. Acevedo for brief episodes of disorientation and she sent me for an EEG and MRI after asking a series of questions. She got the results fairly quickly and reviewed them with me. They weren't encouraging, but she was thorough and compassionate in discussing what was found and her recommendations, both medical and self-help. I felt much better about my outlook and will pursue treatment options she recommended.

I've been seeing Dr. Acevedo since July for my migraines. She has been very helpful in setting up a treatment plan and ensuring necessary changes are made as needed. Her office staff is equally helpful, we had issues with Apria bringing medical equipment and with the help of the staff we got thijngs resolved ASAP. All around this is a great office that I would highly recommend.
