I saw Dr. Goz in order to determine if I need surgery on 2 herniated discs in my neck. . I was scared and in a lot of pain and found his 'consult' to be lacking in both empathy and helpful information. I was immediately taken aback because he did not go over my x-rays or MRI images with me. When I inquired about possible treatments, he did not offer any suggestions that went beyond PT or steroid shots. He did not answer many of my questions and reminded me several times that his only role was to determine if I needed surgery. My chiropractor, physical therapist, and pain doctor have all been more helpful in helping me understand what had happened to my body.

I’d seen Dr Goz in July 2024. In my prior review I stated I was going to get a 2nd opinion. I’m so glad I did. My consulting physician actually listened to me BEFORE he reviewed my MRI and x-rays. His report stated: “The patient is advised to continue with her current management of pain. If the pain worsens, she should seek medical attention. Surgery is the last resort.”

The staff up front and my x-ray technician were amazing. Dr. Goz, however, seemed to be in a hurray. He came in, showed me my x-ray and told me what he thought was going on. Then he handed me a piece of paper to schedule PT and an MRI. He never physically looked at my back. The whole visit was 2 minutes max. I asked him a question about my pain and location of pain and he repeated himself about the PT and MRI and walked out.

Dr. Goz was extremely knowledgeable. I assumed that he would recommend surgery because that’s his specialty. I was pleasantly surprised when he said that there were better options for my neck pain and he referred me to other providers which shows he is a surgeon with integrity. 100% would recommend him and the ROC.

Dr. Goz was very detailed in explaining what was going on with my ailment & how to go about the proper treatment plan for me. I believe ROC is one of the best in the Reno Sparks area. This is from my own personal experience having been a patient there for many ailments. The most important aspect for me is that they care about their patients quality of life.

Dr. Goz listened and was informative and cautious. He wouldn’t make assumptions until I had further diagnostic tests.

Dr Goz was very through. As a healthcare provider myself I knew what I wanted before walking in, he already spoke what was on my mind before I had the chance. His vision was in alignment with my own. My first NeuroSurgery Consult wanted to hear me towards an ACDF and that was not what I wanted, Dr Goz was also in agreement. I felt heard and acknowledged through my entire appointment. I’m glad I decided to make an appointment for a second opinion with him and advocate for my own health by doing so.

Dr. Goss provided permanent relief from the lower back and hip pain I was suffering from. I am ecstatic to be pain-free!

About my new patient visit with Dr. Goz was outstanding. The scheduling, check-in process for new patient, nursing, check in, and visit with Dr. Goz were all above expectations and extremely efficient.

I came in with hopes to fix my back and other things. I knew the issues I had prior to my visit. When he came in the room it was brief and quick. Didn’t discuss my X-rays or truly go over what was going on. Just told me to lose weight and go to physical therapy. I’ve waited months to get in to hopefully get my back fixed to only be brushed off.

Been waiting for a long time to get spinal correction surgery on my back and now everything is finally coming together thank goodness for Dr Goz told me what I needed to get healthy enough for my surgery and with hard work and determination I finally did it looking forward to Surgery in June.

On Dec. 20th I had Lumbar Microdiscectomy/Laminectomy often called herniated disk surgery. I met with Dr. Goz who explained the surgery - what it wouldn't do and likely what it would do since I also had another issue. Paperwork was supplied both before and after surgery that supported the initial discussion and the process. I could not be more pleased with the Reno ROC surgery center; the through medical procedures before to ensure my health, the seamless surgical process and the entire team of professionals. The doctors and nurses and especially Dr. Goz exceeded my expectations.

I was getting Dr. Goz's opinion on treatment for Scheuermann's Disease. I have confidence in his skills, knowledge, and prognosis.

This was a long 8 month process to convince my Cigna insurance company that I needed this spine surgery. I want to first thank Dr. Goz and Jen for all the time and energy they went through to make this surgery possible. I am finally out of the severe pain that this injury caused. I feel that Doctor Goz is an excellent surgeon and the team of doctors he chose to assist him during the surgery were outstanding. I would definitely recommend Dr. Goz to my friends and others.
