I was referred to Dr. Ahn by my physiatrist in the fall of 2024.I have been in chronic pain for close to 10 years, which I had thought was mostly muscular and due to my career (RDH nearly 20 years- full time). I managed my pain with massage, a lot of stretching, routine exercise, modifications to how I was able to work and for the most part, I was able to tolerate the discomfort - I was 'used to it.'In the fall of 2024 out of no where, I experienced crippling pain- beyond that of a level 10. I cannot put onto words the degree of pain I was feeling. After my MRI revealed a couple areas of concern- the largest area of concern being a severe herniation at C6, I was referred to Dr. Ahn for a surgical consult. Dr. Ahn forever changed my life after first, a lumbar laminectomy, and second and presumably my largest surgery, a cervical laminectomy and fusion. This surgery took the course of about 6 hours & was slated months of recovery. However, due to the strikingly top quality care and involvement of Dr. Ann’s team at Bedford Neurospine I was able to heal faster, better, and easier than anyone had predicted. Travis was my PA in the hospital and truly helped craft my care plan that was something suited just for me in my hospital stay and for the plan at home. It was a true gift from God to have had such a great team of care, that took the time and made my family and I feel as though I was their only patient. Dr. Ahn did surgery on me for Anterior cervical discectomy and fusion (ACDF) because I had Spinal Stenosis. He was very direct, complete, compassionate and the best thing is I have gotten my left arm back and am getting my right arm back. He is giving me my life back. I can't thank him enough.

On a pre arranged visit, having previously seen by Access, on my recent visit after 10 min. with no discussion of the X-Ray study, he uttered he would report to USDOL a zero impairment. Intending to do more harm than good he was aware of the purpose for the visit. With the awareness that WHO urges DBI be used to rate Permanency. SSDI stated my condition is severe.

Dr. Uri Ahn performed my discectomy in June 2023 and it changed my life. Of all the surgeries (15+) in my life, it was one of the best experiences and recoveries. I initially saw Dr. Anh in April 2023 about pain down my left leg. He found that I had a herniated disc which was pressing on a nerve. After trying alternative treatments to no avail, it was determined that I needed surgery. I had the surgery at Exeter Hospital and it was a wonderful experience from start to finish. The nurses were very knowledgeable, efficient, and kind. They worked great together like a well oiled machine. The two anesthesiologists were amazing…I didn’t come out of surgery sick or groggy and was pleasantly surprised when I already felt the relief from the leg pain. Thorough explanation of my condition using the MRI and corrective action needed. I needed to have this done in the hospital and Procedure went as planned. Pain that was troubling me for 6 months prior was gone the same day as the procedure.

My review contains a lot of detail to make a key point - Dr. Ahn treats the patient as unique rather than as an impersonal textbook medical issue. Years ago Instead of doing a complex operation that would result in restrictions he chose to approach my issue using injections and PT. It worked. The fact that he backed off from surgery greatly impressed me as a thoughtful person who did not view his patient as a nail requiring a hammer. In 2021 and 2022 I developed neuropathy - but no pain - in my left leg that became acute during a long trip to Australia in the fall, 2022. I requested Dr. Ahn. The MRI showed severe pressure in the lumbar area, appearing to require a fusion and laminectomy. After reviewing the MRI, he concluded that only a lumbar laminectomy was needed. Again, Dr. Ahn made a thoughtful, measured assessment which resulted in total success. The follow-up care was equally personal, professional and right on the mark with PT. The result - golf next week.

Dr Ahn performed a laminectomy on my low back, had spinal stenosis, best Dr ever. I walked off operating table with no back pain. Pins and needles were gone, 2nd week after operation no more pain meds at all. I have no more pain in my back

Dr Ahn performed a laminectomy, and I felt very little pain following and after a week needed no pain meds. My PT therapist was Tyler who pushed me in sessions. I feel great and walk with no pain now.

When I first met Dr. Ahn, I could barely walk & had been experiencing debilitating back & sciatic nerve pain for 7 months. Dr. Ahn discussed all options with me & ultimately I decided to have the lumbar fusion surgery. Dr. Ahn and his team took great care of me. The physical therapists are great too. Four months after surgery, I’m pain free & getting stronger every day. Can’t say enough good things about this place & Dr. Ahn. Such a great experience. Highly recommend!

I would like to express my deep appreciation for Dr. Ahn's life-changing laminectomy surgery on my back. I can only imagine the sacrifices that he made over decades to develop such amazing skills and experience. I also want to thank his dedicated staff, who clearly share his passion for excellence. I had severe chronic pain, immobility and relied on heavy medication. I had exhausted all the other options, and surgery was the only alternative. He made sure I took my time to come to a decision and that I understood the risks, but I had complete trust in him. His skills were transformative. He's given me a second chance at a normal active life. I’ll be forever grateful.

If there was a scale of 1 to 10 I would give Dr. Ahn an 11. I was in pain for 10 months and after surgery I was immediately pain free. I was impressed with Dr. Ahn’s honesty and not beating around the bush. He gave me the options and when I chose surgery he was able to get it done even when the hospital was cancelling most surgeries because of Covid. I would highly recommend him.

I can't say enough good things about Dr Ahn. He's a wonderful surgeon. He answers all your questions and doesn't make you feel foolish for asking them. He doesn't over-medicate you, but he makes sure you're always comfortable. The xrays say it all. The job he did was absolutely perfect and I've been pain free since 2 weeks after my surgery. I feel blessed that I found Dr Ahn.

I only have good things to say about my experience with NH Neurospine Institute. From my very 1st appointment Dr. Uri Ahn I was very impressed. Dr. Ahn is a very compassionate doctor. When other doctors would not help me, Dr. Ahn was willing to perform my spinal fusion surgery. Immediately following my surgery the pain I had been dealing with for 3 years was completely gone! I could finally walk without pain! I can't put into words how thankful I am to Dr. Ahn and how much I appreciate his compassion for my complicated situation. Dr. Ahn was a true professional and did an excellent job in his operation to relieve the pain in my lower back. Dr. Ahn and his support staff answered all of my questions before my operation and during the post-operation appointment. As a result of his work, I have regained nearly 100% of my functionality. Dr Ahn has operated on my back twice. The first operation gave me my life back and now once again although it was a larger operation it worked and now the pain is gone. I of course knew it would be because there is no better spine doctor anywhere. Now the PT Dept is getting me in shape to get back to work. Great Organization to work with.
