Dr is good. Administrative staff is horrible
My grandson has been to Dr Desouza for pain in his foot after walking. Dr Desouza was very thorough upon exam and his assistant was very attentive. The problem is that you cannot reach the doctor. I have called his office, gotten a trlephone tree, left messages - even one with the emergency operator. Nothing. After over a week my daughter is still waiting to be contacted and given the referral and diagnosis for physical therapy that she needs. The administrative staff needs to be changed or improved.

Dr. DeSouza played a tremendous part in the care of our daughter with Rett syndrome. His knowledge and expertise in diagnosing and treatment of her spasticity and seizures were essential in her ability to enjoy her life to the fullest. We are forever indebted to Dr. DeSouza and his wonderful staff for helping us navigate her journey.

My son was born with a severe neurological and seizure disorder. We didn’t realize it till he was five months old and started having a rare type of seizure. PNA saw him immediately and all the doctors and staff were knowledgeable and compassionate during those very difficult times. My son is now 34 yrs old and through all those years we have depended on PNA completely and they have never failed us and they are definitely a part of the village that has helped us in what’s been best for our son. Thank you to all the staff and doctors!

Love Advocare Pediatric Neruology!!
My daughter has been a patient of both Dr. Waran and Dr. Desouza for more than two decades. The care from the docs and the entire team has been wonderful. One person in particular, Donna Haimer, has been part of my daughter's care since day one. Celebrating 40 years with the practice is a testament to her commitment and passion for her profession and the patients and their families. Donna has always taken special interest in my daughter's care and well being and has taken the time to get to know both of us on a personal level. Having a child with a medical issue is never easy, but having Dr. Desouza, his team and someone like Donna on your side reassures us that we are in great hands.

i was referred to dr desouza after an orthopedic doctor suspected carpal tunnel. dr desouza denied this theory and refused to do the emg for months. when he did he spent the entire time taunting me about how i didn’t have carpal tunnel. the emg showed i had severe carpal tunnel. 7 years later i still have problems that could’ve been avoided most likely had he gone through with diagnosing sooner.

Unfortunately we've attempted to contact Dr. DeSouza's office for help with our poor son, who is suffering from what we think is severe ADHD, anxiety and dyslexia. The good doctor's office failed to reply to our 4 requests to schedule an appointment over a 3 week period. All we wanted to do was schedule an appointment - tried online and via phone. Never called or emailed us once to at least say not taking new appointments or to schedule something far out into August. Instead he wasted our time waiting 3 weeks.

Dr Desouza is an exceptional Neurologist who is very personable....., he thoroughly answered my umpteen questions & explained everything in great detail. My son likes him & feels comfortable with him which is important. Moreover, his staff has always been extremely kind, pleasant & accommodating. They are compassionate professionals who have always treated us with respect. Alex is an absolute pleasure to speak with on the phones! (Since we reside in Millburn we wished Dr Desouza still practiced out of Springfield) We highly recommend Dr Desouza & his caring staff. Thank you. Devyn & Julian O'Neill

I used to go see Dr. Desouza years ago as a kid and he is amazing! He’s very friendly and easy to talk to. He’s a great listener and takes his time to explain the treatment plan and is incredibly caring. Highly recommend him!

Dr. DeSouza's secretary scheduled us for a date during our Christmas trip, then charged us a $50 fee for not showing. Rather than handle their error directly, they sent us to billing, even sending us a bill threatening to refer us to a collections service if we didn't pay their bogus fee. His office refused to recognize and own their error. My advice to you? Don't deal with this doctor's office run around BS. Find another physician.

I remember Dr. De sousa from when he began seeing my daughter, Alexandra. She was born with a very rare condition, and Dr. De sousa was the only doctor at the hospital where she was born that knew what she had from the signs and symptoms. He is excellent and very knowlegable to say the least. And my daughter at 28 now, remembers him! She was 4 when she last saw him. Looking at complaints here about the staff. In Madison office, never a problem. Suggestion:your child is seen by him, not his staff

This office is horrible. The receptionist is very rude and should not be in the healthcare industry. They left us waiting for 40 minutes and when I asked about our appointment they said the doctor was not even in the building! If I hadn't asked they would have let us sit there waiting. Find another doctor who cares about patients.

Dr. DeSouza was recommended by our pediatrician. Rude office staff sighed and transferred me to a message instructing me cheerily that the best way to make an appointment was by filling out a form online, so I did that. Two days have gone by and nobody has bothered to contact me. They are at best inattentive, at worst, rude and dismissive. No thanks. Moving on to a practice where someone bothers to talk to me on the phone and my kid won't be a number to you.

The office staff is rude and incompetent, they do not return phone calls and are not helpful or courteous to the patient or family. Dr. DeSouza is very hard to understand and arrogant, he makes you feel unimportant and irrelevant. We were there for an appointment at 4:00 we were 9 minutes late they said the appointment was at 3:30 so the Dr. Would not see us or come out to explain, although it's OK for him to make us wait for 2 hrs while he has lunch. We called 2 days prior, no return call. Sad.

Had to submit a request online to request an appointment because when you call the office number, the recording says its the fastest way to get one. Called to follow up two days later but got the same recording so I left a message. Day 3 - called someone else. Apparently, they have enough work.

Tried to make an appointment. Used the website and there's no way to make an appointment online with the Springfield office. So I called. After going through numerous menu options... I was instructed I had to leave a message to make an appointment... nobody would pick up the phone and actually speak to me. Stated it would be 1-2 days before someone would call me back. Well NOBODY even bothered to return my call. These people are awful... and I would never use them. Bad!!
