Review of Doctor Tracey Johnston, Winchester, VA.
I have been a patient of Dr. Tracy Johnston for approximately two years. I have found her to be a wonderfully caring and extremely competent physician. Before coming to Dr. Johnston, I had been looking for a concierge doctor for some time. I am very happy having found Dr. Johnston. It has been great to be able to call about any problem I have, get a timely call back and get an appointment promptly if necessary. This has been night and day difference from the practice I had previously used. I would definitely recommend Dr. Johnston as a superb primary care physician.

Unwilling to discuss problem, lack of compassion
I put a lot of research into choosing Dr. Johnston for specific reasons. She refused an introductory phone call but finally agreed through her receptionist that I could send information in an email. I provided her with lots of history to be sure I was making the correct choice. She agreed we were a good fit. I put a lot of work into providing her with previous lab tests. But only two months into the program after 2 zooms and one in-person visit in another city, we had a misunderstanding about a lost email. Without any discussion, she kicked me out of her practice in an overnight email in the midst of lab work. I was devastated and apologized for my part, but she wouldn't discuss it or reconsider. She had Covid at the time, and I was recovering. She even told me once that Covid can create brain fog. Although it was extremely traumatic for me, I know now it was for the best. The Hippocratic Oath was not in her map of the world: "Physician: Above all else, do no harm."

Dr Johnston is quite thorough and listens carefully to my issues and concerns. She fully explains her findings and is interested in the whole of my well being rather than only dealing with or treating an acute situation. She is willing to take all the time I need to address my problems. She ensures I have regular visits and monitors my health in detail.

Without a doubt, I consider Dr. Johnston to be the best doctor I have ever had. She takes as much time as needed to listen to my concerns and she believes in treating the whole patient not just the symptoms. She encourages using alternative "healing" techniques such as mindfulness, energy healing, meditation and such in addition to standard medical practices. Dr. Johnston seems to find the right balance in ordering tests or recommending a consultation with a specialist.

I have no hesitation in recommending Dr. Tracy Johnson. Thank goodness I have found a doctor who listens to you and does not have their head stuck in their computer all the time as you talk to them. Always available to me even on weekends by cell or text. Caring, compassionate and very kind. I always feel very confident in doing anything she may recommend. Thank you Dr. J. for taking such good care of me. Also a big thank you to her Assistant Stephanie, she is wonderful.

I call Dr. Johnston my life saver. She was the first doctor to take me seriously over what has now been a 3 year battle with cancer. Had it not been for her persistence, I may not be here. She has walked beside me every step of the way and is so much more to me than just my doctor, she is a special friend! I love her immensely! Highly recommend her to care for others with the same gentle, down to earth nature she has cared for me for more than three years now.

Having been a member of the Navy Medical Department for thirty years both as a practitioner and administrator, I can without reservation recommend Dr. Tracy Johnston. My wife and I have been patients of Dr. Johnston for the past eight years, and she has exceeded our expectations in every way. She is without a doubt one of the most competent and caring physicians we have ever known.
