I would not recommend Dr. Tony John (I would give zero stars). He is apathetic and slow to take action. He is not personable, doesn't seem aware of the latest AAP guidance and quickly dismisses the concerns of parents. Due to his "wait and see approach" my son is now having to do significant PT, which would have been reduced had he taken immediate action and referred us to PT when I had initially indicated I had concerns. I wish a had read the reviews already posted for Dr. John as it looks like many have had the same poor experience. Also note that Hometown Pediatrics does not offer a patient portal or similar system to address non-urgent questions.

Dr. Tony John is careless. When my son was 7 months Dr. John used a needle to pop a papule under his eye causing uncontrollable bleeding and a traumatic emergency dermatologist visit to have it cauterized to stop the bleeding. When he was 9 months old and not walking Dr. John had us take all of my sons clothes off with only a diaper left place him on the cold nasty floor and call him to me. When my son cried and didn’t come he told me he needed therapy. My son walked fine shortly after 1. AVOID!

We went to see Dr. John for a check up. My son's previous PA had left the firm and I decided a 14 year old needed a male doctor. Dr. John was rude, apathetic and condescending. I was dissapointed and won't return. We haven't had a really good experience at Hometown anyway, but this was really bad and we are done. I tried to expand more, but there is a character limit on these reviews. Just trust a fellow Mama.

Dr John has always taken time to listen to my concerns and discuss options. I appreciate his patience with me and his concern about my children.
