Worst place ever
I have concerns regarding Dr. Johnson's professionalism, specifically her behavior towards staff and patients, which I perceived as superior. Her treatment of employees and lack of assistance with my eye issue led to a disappointing experience, feeling that my visit was not valuable and that financial gain was prioritized.

Opthalmology Review
Dr Johnson is an excellent and skilled surgeon who is remarkably experienced having done more than 9000 cataract surgeries. Her office is well run with very good staff. I would recommend her highly for ophthalmology care. My own personal experience has been excellent. JD Whisnant MD

Rejecting Medicine
I was given three items, one of which was the Omega-3 pills. I took one, and decided that I would not take anymore of those pills. The lidScrub is fine as well as the warm compress. The Omega Pills cause a very unpleasant taste, and so I am not going to take anymore of them.

Improper diagnosis
I wanted a second opinion on an eye doctor that said I had Inflated optic nerves and it was drusen. Tonica sends me to the ER saying I have cancer and I need to go now. I told her I've seen other eye doctors you're wrong. She said I need to go immediately I could die. She was very wrong and it cost me alot of money for her poor judgment. I don't recommend this eye doctor other than typical eye examine. She is no specialist.

Johnson represents excellence, clarity and empathy
My experience with Dr. Johnson has been phenomenal. As one whose favorite “thing to do” since early childhood was read, I began experiencing dry eyes more severely, especially with a research project on which I have been working for at least 5 years requiring constant reading and writing, I began experiencing more difficulty in engaging with reading and writing at least 3 hours a day. Her thorough treatment and the resulting efficacy are making my life more enjoyable with being able to continue to do one of my “favorite things.”

Compassionate Care and Well-Managed Office
My recent visit to Dr. Johnson's office was light years better than where I had previously gone. Every member of the staff was exceeding ly polite and respectful. Most important, Dr. Johnson took as much time as was needed to review my medical history and make recommendations for care. I highly recommend the practice.

A cataract-free world!
Dr. Johnson made my left eye "cataract free" yesterday and did the same for my right eye 1 month ago. I had seen her about 15 years ago when she was at NCEENT and loved her then. But my employer-provided insurance stopped covering that, so I had to leave. I was thrilled to see that Medicare allowed me to have Dr. Johnson as my ophthalmologist again, especially given that my cataracts were bad and needed to come out. From my first visit this time on, everything in my interactions with this practice has been top notch. Parking is easy. The office staff is SENSATIONAL! Her office suite is neat and clean and inspires confidence that the rooms are as well. Both surgeries went better than I expected. She is great about answering questions, looking at options, and helping patients make their decisions. My interactions with her, the staff, and the facility where the surgery was have been nothing but outstanding. I am thrilled that I will be able to continue using her as my ophthalmologist!

Dr. Johnson is Amazing
I have been seeing Dr. Johnson since I relocated to the Durham area 5 years ago. I have severe dry eyes and Dr. Johnson has helped me through this process. She laid out a plan of action which has helped me greatly. Her staff is friendly and the office is clean and welcoming. I know when I go to her office I will get what I need . Dr. Johnson performed my cataract surgery and I now have 20/20. If you are looking for a local eye doctor please give Dr. Johnson a try you will not be disappointed.

My husband went to Dr Johnson for his bilateral cataract removal. She and her her staff took the time to explain his various options regarding his implants. One eye down and one to go, he's so happy with the results he can't wait to get the other eye done. This is a 70 year old man who has worn glasses since the age of 6 and a whole new world is opening up to him. Thank you Dr Johnson and staff

I have been Dr. Johnson's patient for well over 10 years. I signed up with her after my ophthalmologist retired. She expertly removed pterygium, an irritating condition that I suffered from for many years, from both eyes in my first few visits. I experienced her competence and appreciated her tender care during subsequent visits over the years. She impressively pays attention to other aspects of her patient's health. She has the tender care of a physician and the analytical ability of an engineer, both of which she is. She has a rare combination of skills that make her a great ophthalmologist. She moved into a her new facility a few years ago. Her office is very well organized and her staff is very friendly and competent. I highly recommend her.

I will never return to Dr. Johnson & it is very unfortunate. I’ve worked in the healthcare system for years & most of my friends/colleagues are providers and work for UNC or Duke…so I have a great understanding of what a doctor has to deal with on a daily basis, their staff, & always avoid being difficult in any way & trust them to do their job. However, Dr. Johnson was so rude & would not assist me after her diagnosis was contradicted by other providers & a costly ER visit. She was passive, cold, and dismissive of me when I tried to get her help to make sense of these contradictions of her very serious diagnosis/referral. She was very unprofessional, cold, & was not welcoming in anyway to a new patient. Waste of money for a visit that lasted over an hour & I only saw Dr. Johnson for 10 minutes…
