He made changes 'just because' and even when they're proven to be bad, he will not admit to any bad choices, or go back to what was working. Inherited him from another Dr who worked hard to get me to a great place after 7 years. Stable for last 3 years, he wants to lower meds just because. Terrible, requested to go back to full dose that worked (Buproprion) No. He's playing guinea pig with me for unknown reasons. I was STABLE. He does this just to put his twist on them, I guess? Control or ego issues? Oh, and he thinks mal-absorption after having 70% of my stomach removed and bypassing most of my small intestine isn't 'really a thing' from what he's read?! He's certainly got some issues, as do most mental health professionals, including myself, but there's no recourse when he makes these changes and you're negatively impacted. I can only find new and file a complaint. Other staff seemed capable, but he's disappointing. He did this a year ago with other meds, but I went along with it

Wonderful Doctor
Telehealth
Dr. Christiansen is a great psychiatrist. A very wise and humble person and knowledgeable about medications. I have been his patient for several years and know he genuinely cares about the long term well-being of his patients.

They all are horrible
Telehealth
Avoid this place at all cost because they all work together to make patients look bad when they want you off of benzos. I’ve been on benzos through there office for 19 years and despite of me telling them they are rushing me off too fast, I’ve had terrible hypertension since being forced tapered off, Todd Christiansen, Dr. Barrett and Cassey Gardner worked in unison to have me admit to having “psychic episodes” in order to get into a PRP program, so I’ll have more support. The program requires Medicaid, in which I don’t have because in Maryland, I’m told I make too much a month of my SSDI income to qualify for aide. And thanks to agreeing to this nonsense, when I go to the ER, regardless of the cause, they treat me like I’m crazy. They are horrible and harm patients psychically and psychologically- I’m reporting their practice for breaking “Do No Harm” laws

Seek care elsewhere!!
It’s one thing for it to be difficult to schedule an appointment with him. It’s no news that mental care workers are overextended, but Dr Christiansen really doesn’t seem to care about patients’ concerns and is quick to prescribe drugs that a quick Google search will show cause the exact side effects you’re trying to avoid. Also, he literally ghosted me in the middle of a mental health crisis. Careless and unprofessional, 0/10 would not recommend!

Dr. Christiansen is either insecure in the care he provides or over-extended and therefore minimizes patient concerns. Rather than listening, asking questions, and finding out what is going on, he will tell you what is going on, and he usually considers it no big deal. If your kid has a three-day temper tantrum after a hair cut, that's just normal adolescent irritability, your family falling apart, all eh ok, here are some meds. The office is beyond disorganized, but most of the staff are trying to be helpful, but the disorganization in the office interferes with them doing their best.

I've never had an appointment start on time with him. His staff is rude and unprofessional. The office is dingy, overcrowded, and generally kinda gross and uncomfortable. He'll write your script but that's about it.

Dr. Christiansen is nice but extremely unresponsive and the staff is absolutely horrible. I have to call and email for weeks to get refills. When my son who is his patient was in crisis he would not return calls. He has no real concern for patients just writes prescriptions. See someone else and avoid all doctors in this practice

Dr. Christiansen is a decent enough doctor, but the incompetence of his staff is deplorable. Several times they've canceled appointments without notifying me, so that I had to miss work for no reason. They also repeatedly refill prescriptions incorrectly and incredibly slowly. In spite of repeated complaints, these errors keep happening.

He was friendly and understanding, and gave great tips and advice on how to deal with anxiety. I would have liked to continue seeing him. But unfortunately, his absentmindedness and the incompetent office he works for is my reason for the low review.

Dr. Christiansen seems very knowledgeable about psychiatric medications and drug interactions, but I didn't feel he was able to address my issues well. I had difficulty expressing my concerns to him as he would listen but not provide much (if any) interaction or feedback. That makes it hard to understand what more he does or doesn't need to know. I wound up not feeling comfortable discussing my issues and felt like he just wanted me to come visit so he could bill my insurance.

I've been seeing Dr Christiansen for 3-5 years now as my previous Dr left the practice. Dr Christiansen seemed adequate initially. Has yawned several times during our sessions and seems uninterested in genuinely trying to help. He is unresponsive when emailing or calling for prescriptions. Even the pharmacy has difficulty contacting him and the office for additional medications. Prescriptions have been called in wrong also. He has forgotten appointments and even left for the day when sched
