Treats patients horrible and is money hungry
Took my mom here yesterday because her primary doctor recommended her to go see Dr. Tina Bansal. From the moment I arrived to the appointment the receptionist had a horrible attitude with me, I wish I had done my research before taking my mom to this place, not only that but Dr. Tina Bansal doesn’t know how to talk to her patients, she was so rude to me as I had to translate to my mom since she doesn’t speak English, I would ask Dr. Tina Bansal a question and she would answer me with attitude and made me feel like I was stupid. I recommend everyone to please not come here do your research and find an endocrinology specialist that cares about their patients because Dr. Tina Bansal doesn’t care about her patients, she is money hungry and treats her patients horribly.

HORRIBLE wait times on hold!!! The absolute WORST
Dr Bansal is pretty good. Spends sufficient time with patients. Of course, that makes her chronically late- couple times were an hour or more. But the very worst is trying to call the office. Most times they don't even pick up, your call automaticalky goes to hold. After a several minute hold, a recorded message says to leave a voicemail. It's not very immediate that they return your call. When they do pick up your call, 99% of the time they answer with 'can I put on hold' and do so before you can even get a word in. Very frustrating. If she weren't a good doc, I'd definately be seeing someone else.

Terrible office
Telehealth
I would give zero stars if i could. Had two appointments, the second appointment was virtual. The NP was late, had a month to review my results and didn't give me any diagnosis just maybes. The staff sound like they don't want to work there. Also, they don't post your results online because they want you to pay for follow up visits, until I said I wanted them to be posted ahead of time and they did that. Totally unprofessional NP and office in general. DO NOT recommend!!!!

Should have read the reviews
Today was my first appointment with Dr. Bansal. I arrived 20 minutes early for my appointment as requested. I was brought into a room and after 30 minutes of sitting there, I up and left without saying a word. My time was not respected and it was a horrible first impression.

Can’t recommend
Very condescending and made me feel like I was a stupid person. Can never get through when you need to ask a question or get a prescription refilled had to go weeks without my medication because no one would respond to phone calls. Her staff apparently learned from her because they’re not helpful at all Cannot recommend her unless you like being treated like an idiot.

Poor bedside manner, incompetent staff
Dr Bansal is a demeaning person and does not respect patients' time or effort. The office staff repeatedly fail to follow-up with insurance carriers and patients for simple procedures like scheduling labwork or prior authorizations. The staff turnover is extremely high suggesting a poor work environment which would not be surprising given the demeanor or the doctor towards her patients.

Wait time
I’ve been going to Dr Bansal for over 15 years. I’ve never been late to an appointment but have had to wait for her many times. Was scheduled to see Joann the nurse practitioner and after running into traffic from the hour plus away I come from I was 12 minutes late. The staff checked me in I apologized for being late. A few minutes later they said your appointment was at 9 I have to see if they can still see you. I couldn’t believe it I tried to call the office at 8:58 but they don’t answer till 9. The number of times I waited for the over 15 years and the one time I’m late they don’t want to see me. They ended up having a different nurse practitioner see me. Time to find a new doctor closer to my house.

I will not see Dr. Bansal
I called a week ago to make an appointment. They took all my information and said someone would call me back on Friday or Saturday or Monday. On Tuesday I called and left my name and number again because NO ONE CALLED ME. They did not call me again. After loosing sleep over this, I called Northwestern Medicine and have an appointment with them. Shame on your office. This is totally unprofessional.

Dr Bansal was recommended by a doctor friend, I had been working with a nephrologist and cardiologist about mysterious high blood pressure. I'm so glad I met Dr. Bansal, she was so thorough! She read through a 7-page report my cardiologist and nephrologist skimmed over, because of this she got me on the path to finding out the cause of my issues. It can take a bit to get a 1st appointment with her, but it's probably because she spends so much time on her patients. After seeing other specialists I really appreciate Dr Bansal's time and care.

I went to Dr Bansal for three years. During that time she told me I was eating too much (she "didn't think anyone else would tell me that"), that my problems were all because of my weight, and that the lump I felt in my throat didn't exist and was all in my head. She was never on time despite booking weeks in advance, and she took at least one other phone call while in the patient room with me nearly every time I saw her (once it was three calls). I switched doctors, and not only did the new doctor immediately send me for an ultrasound, I have since been diagnosed with thyroid cancer and I'm grateful for the early detection. Dr Bansal's staff is okay, but she is a terrible doctor for anything that isn't routine. I hope with experience she will learn to listen to her patients a little more in the future.

This is not a doctor that cares about her patients after she sees you once or twice she passes you off to her physicians assistant. I ended up in the hospital for lack of care from this physician When I tried to get help. I'm sorry I didn't find another doctor. I should've read the reviews online before I signed up with her.

Dr Bansal is amazing. She has taken care of me for several years and helped me take care of my ailment. Her staff is very courteous and efficient. Appointments are observed diligently. You are whisked into the office almost immediately. I would highly recommend Dr. Bansal to my friends and family... which I already have. Thank you Dr. Bansal!

I was referred to Dr. Bansal by my rheumatic fever specialist who diagnosed me with Paget's disease of the lower spine and pelvis. Dr. Bansal is an endocrinologist who was initially looking at my alkaline phosphate level to determine the cause of the abnormally high readings. She not only helped me with Paget's disease but she noticed some other abnormal levels through blood tests she ordered and helped me resolve those problems as well. I find her to be very focused on helping her patients and I absolutely love her straightforward style and upbeat nature. I am personally very thankful that she treats me and I have complete confidence in her skills. I would recommend Dr. Bansal to anyone who needs a great endocrinologist.

I feel that she has a lot of knowledge in her field, but her bedside manner is horrendous. She speaks strictly in medical terms, mostly at her computer. That is, until she knew that I (spouse of the patient) had a medical related background. Then she spoke to me as an equal, and stopped speaking to my spouse altogether- but I'm not a doctor or clinical at all and don't understand most of the language she uses. She can come off as condescending, although I don't believe that's her goal- I think she believes she's very straightforward. I do like that she prints out all of the summaries to follow at home after appointments, and she is very thorough with my spouse. But wow does she need to work on that bedside manner; guess that's not something Yale teaches.

I have to say that I am extremely disappointed with Dr. Bansal, and should have listened to the other reviews. I first started seeing her just under a year ago as a hospital referral for a thyroid condition. At first, she was very nice and attentive. Unfortunately, I was suddenly dismissed from the practice without any explanation or apology. I was SHOCKED. The longer version is this - after three months of not seeing Dr. Bansal, I called to schedule a follow-up appointment with her for my thyroid. I had needed to cancel two consecutive appointments because of a new job that placed new demands on my time. Having settled in, I wanted to revisit to have medication renewed and my thyroid health updated. I was unable to reach anyone at the clinic, so left a message asking for a callback and an appointment. A couple of hours later, I received a call from an after-hour receptionist (at 4pm) letting me know - with no warning or explanation - that the doctor refuses the appointment.

I've seen these awful reviews and I'm shocked. She is a very good doctor who I have seen for over 10 years now. I have metabolic syndrome from weight problems, and although she has been very helpful I went on the Keto diet and lost most of my weight that way. She deals with a very difficult subspecialty and weight loss is hard for many people and she has seen mine go up and down. If she has been stern about it, its only because she is concerned. She spends as much time with me as I need, and she is extremely thorough having found a small thyroid nodule as well. I can't recommend her highly enough.

Dr. Bansal takes the time to explain everything in detail, and understands the diabetic mood swings that often make them less than ideal patients. She gets right to the point and tells it like it is. I so appreciate that about her. Her knowledge of the disease is outstanding and she constantly works with you to improve your control. She is definitely a patient advocate.
