Primary Care Physician
Dr. Zeien is one of the best! Clearly an example that others should follow when i comes to listening the the patient's needs and answering question in a clear and concise manner. The support staff also make each encounter a pleasure.

Simply the Best!
We were referred to Dr. Zeien a few years ago by a friend who is also a doctor. Our friend promised, 'he's one of the best!'. Well, we agree. He is one of the best practitioners we've encountered, certainly since moving to Florida. He processes information well and arrives at conclusions that make sense. He's respectful, steady, clear-thinking, can handle the complexities of the job. His thinking is organized. He chose the right profession. My husband and I are grateful he's there. In our opinion, his nurse practitioner Elizabeth Tavernari is also top of the line.

Terrible experience with this Doctor
I was a patient of Dr. Zeien I would definitely not recommend him to anybody. It was without a doubt the worst experience I have ever had with a doctor. I had just had my 1st child and at same time my mother developed a rare cancer. I took her to the Mayo Clinic to treat. It was a long process that we are still fighting hard. I contacted the office to let them know I would be out of state for a while. Upon returning to Florida I received two certified letters from his office discharging me as patient. I contacted office to see what was going on. I explained to the office person that I have been out of state dealing with a family emergency which I already informed the office about prior. She was nice and understanding and said she would speak with Dr Zeien. They later called backed and said that he did not want to continue my medical care because he already discharged me. I was shocked and found this to be very inappropriate and unethical. From my experience this doctor does not care!

Nice Dr / Lots of Referrals
I really like Dr. Zeien but he is a bit different - sometimes it's hard to tell if he's teasing or serious. Also, he tends to refer patients a lot when specialized issues come up (personally I think he's overly cautious and the add'l appts w/ specialists we have to see may not always be required). I will continue to see him however due to location and history.

As a brand new patient, I found Dr. Zeien pleasant however ill-prepared as he was constantly on his laptop without human interaction. Spent about 15 minutes in total with him and referred me to two specialists which I found as a red flag. To me that is an indication of not being prepared, get to know me and my medical history FIRST. He also made a couple of peculiar questions and a comment I found unappreciative. Time to find the right fit for a PCP, this guy failed.

Somewhat ok at first. As time went on, he pondered what was on the computer with very minimal interaction with me. As a courtesy, I notified the office when we were moving out of the area (about 2 hours away). Subsequently got a letter ending our relationship (oh so not true). When we moved back to the area, I went to his office to make a "return" appointment to be told that the system would allow me an appointment. Talked with the office manager. Told her I didn't appreciate the way the matter was handled, specifically the letter when I was the one to let them know about my moving. She changed my status in the system. Ultimately did not make an appointment based on prior poor doctor/patient experience and the way they handled my leaving the practice. That's the last time I let a doctor's office know my status as far as being or not being part of the practice.

Dr Zeien has been my primary care doc for several years. There is a lot to like about him and his office. I am a very educated person about medicine, and he and I discuss things well. He is very much on top of current guidelines, and can be appropriately persistent about recommendations. Overall, he pays attention and tries hard to work within what his patient is or is not willing to do.

Great PCP, who really does listen and tries hard. – Dec 31, 2020

If you don't mind not being able to see the doctor for months even if you're declining in health, Zeien is your guy. The PA's are no real help so you're pretty much out of luck if your condition deteriorates. The indignant attitude is as far from a patient-centric approach as it could be.

Dr. Zeien greatest attribute is that he listens and then acts. If you have a concern he will ask you and listen to what that concern is. Then he advises you on the spot and for me it has always ended positively. He is very competent and really wants to solve problems. He seems to really want to help people by being a real Doctor. I'm lucky to have found him.
