Beware
This man completely messed up a family member who went in for emergency stomach surgery. He took it upon himself to decide the patient didn't need pain and anxiety medication that he's been on for years. This man decided to detox the patient like the patient was a drug addict and get the patient to agree to it while they were clearly not in their right mind after coming out of surgery despit the families wishes saying they wanted all his medicine left as it was. Patient was so messed up from the medication this man prescribed and was seen by another doctor who was very concerned for his well-being. Needless to say his medications were switched back and he's doing better as of today.

I'm surprised that Dr. Wiegand is still a doctor. He had probation of his Medical License in Maine and in New York. He was routinely 3 to 5 hours late for my appointments. When I asked him if he could be more on time, he told me to go somewhere else. There is no where else. I don't know how he can still be board certified with 2 license suspensions. With an opiate epidemic he tells his patients: "Treatment is a privilege, not a right." I guess it was a right for him when he wrote opiate

Dr. Wiegand was very helpful in the ED with my family and son. He is very compassionate and knowledgeable. I was able to chat with him about his specialty of toxicology --this is a very interesting specialty. Dr. Wiegand is an excellent resource for Strong Memorial ED and hospital.
