They Never Reached Out
Had a referral sent over to his office in 2023. Tried to get an appointment scheduled but could not reach anyone. They never reached out to me either, after getting the referral. By October of 2024, I was tired of waiting on his office. My Provider sent over another referral to another GI doctor in Willow Park and they instantly reached out to me. Went to appt and had the colonoscopy scheduled within a few weeks. Unfortunately, they did discover that I had a mass and it was adenocarcinoma. Had I been able to get in earlier, things may have been a bit different. Now, I am deciding on what direction I will need to go to prepare for the unknown. The lack of punctuality and attentiveness for patients is deeply concerning.

Lack of attentiveness and scheduling – Jan 02, 2025

Wasted 28 hours of my life on this guy
As a patient, you are provided with a very strict process that you have to go through in order to have a colonoscopy. At least 24 hrs of fasting, drinking horrible medical grade Drain-O, hours in the bathroom, discomfort, and showing up an hour before your procedure only for Dr. Huggins to NOT VALUE your time or effort by simply not showing up. The entire staff at the outpatient center were talking about how he is late EVERY SINGLE TIME. They were angry and frustrated. After waiting 2.5 hours for him to get there, I went home. A day in my life WASTED because of this guy. I get that there are medical emergencies that hold doctors up, but to have everyone say that Dr. Huggins is always late? That's just plain habitual rudeness and disregard for his patients. If he doesn't want to work in Granbury and just stay in Weatherford, then he should take himself off the schedule completely. I've never met the guy, but I definitely do not recommend him if you actually value your time.

Dr. Huggins
Dr. Huggins is by far one of the best Doctors I have ever seen. Been seeing this Doctor for decades now and if you fuss about any wait time, its worth the wait. He cares deeply and genuinely about his patients and moreover knows his business. One of the few Doctors that will do the pancreas and he does it well. Saved my life by relieving the excruciating pain associated with blocked pancreatic ducts. I've seen some comments on the office staff. Over the years I've seen the good and the bad. Hopefully its the good now ! Summary: Having true Gastro issues ? I recommend Dr. Huggins by far.

Great Doctor
Dr. Huggins is one of the best doctors we have ever been to, he listens and does the right thing for patients. I read several bad reviews and noticed they all had one thing in common, they had to wait. You can tell when someone does not see many doctors, because they cry over time. A good doctor listens and cares. His staff is also very helpful on all accounts. Office is also clean.

Office was dirty. Arm Chairs were dirty, Carpet was dirty, Entire exam room was dirty. Waited 2 hours. Talked to NP and left the dirty office. This Dr. does not care about his patients. I would Never refer anyone to him. Huggins was referred by another Weatherford Physician. Went to Fort Worth to another Excellent Gastroenterologist.

Ridiculous waiting time for office visit with his PA and also on the morning of the colonoscope, evidently appointment time means nothing. I liked him for the 2 minutes I saw him before the procedure. I have had colonoscope by 3 previous doctors in another city and never experience such a lack of concern for patient's time. Will not be using him again!

I would not Recommend his services. I had to prepay for the surgery and I have overpaid according to my health Insurance Provider and they are not willing to refund my money. Very Poor Customer Service.

I had a scheduled appt for a procedure and the day of procedure I go into office and they tell me he has 3 patients at the hospital to see first and then there are two patients ahead of me at the clinic before they can see me. My appt was for 8am. I had to take three days off for this, starve for a day prior and had family drive in. I had no choice but to decline service from this idiot. DO NOT TRUST THIS PERSON WITH YOUR HEALTH!

Sitting in waiting room for over an hour now. Seven other people in here and my odds of being seen today are slim. Appointment was at 3:00, set up over a month ago, and it is now after 4:15 with no sign of going back. I have an appointment at 5:00, can't wait on him forever. I launch at 4:30 and they already took my copay so they have a problem. Ridiculous booking practices, he cannot be that hard up for money????

Dr. Huggins may be very personable and a very good doctor, but, to put up with his office staff of incompetency is ridiculous. Dr. Huggins is late for his own surgeries, and his staff cannot schedule correctly. My time is just as valuable as theirs, new doctor for me.

GREAT OFFICE STAFF! I REALLY LIKE HOW KNOWLEDGABLE THE BACK OFFICE IS ABOUT INSURANCE. MOST KNOWLEDGABLE PHYSICIAN I HAVE EVER SEEN BECAUSE HE IS SMART AND TAKES THE TIME TO LISTEN. HE IS A SPECIALIST SO I EXPECTED A WAIT TIME. WITH INSURANCES THE WAY THEY ARE NOW, PHYSICIANS CAN'T MAKE MONEY IF THEY DON'T SEE MORE PATIENTS. THANK YOU DR. HUGGINS AND YOUR STAFF.

Very professional and great personality. He is compassionate and concerned about your health and when you have a doctor who treats you like a patient instead of a number it's better to keep him than let him go. The only complaint is wait time is ridiculously long.
