DR Hartshorn was great, what a lifesaver. After 45 years of weight training both my shoulder joints were bone on bone (everything I did hurt, even taking milk out of the frig) and nothing I tried, even PRP injections with another MD worked. Hartshorn knew exactly how to do the injections and today, 5 years later, my shoulders are doing pretty damn well. Of course I've had to lay off weight training like I used to, but I can crank winches on my 55ft sailboat with one hand (BIG IMPROVEMENT) AND, as an extra bonus, he is a really nice guy, the best bedside manner I've ever encountered. Both my wife and I miss him out here in Cali - She's the gal on his website in the blue shirt

A breath of fresh air. Explained everything clearly and gave me a quick diagnosis. No surgery necessary. When do you ever hear that?

Dr. Hartshorn runs an unusually patient-friendly orthopedic practice outside of Boston in Needham, MA under the name "Orth Boston." Everyone on the staff knows the patient's name when they come in the door and do everything possible to make the appointment pleasant and comfortable. Dr. Hartshorn spends significant time with the patient explaining conditions (including going over X-rays and MRIs in detail; he also is a great biology teacher!) and treatment options, with a bias towards conservative non-surgical treatment options. He has been very accessible and checked in with me by phone several times after I was injured skiing out West. He knows his stuff and inspires confidence. I highly recommend Dr. Hartshorn and the Ortho Boston team.

My 85 year old mother broke her wrist and had the pleasure of Dr. Hartshorn being on call. He was absolutely fabulous to my mom. He even gave her a purple cast and cut out the letter C to glue it on the cast because her granddaughter plays soccer at Curry college and had a game that night.

Dr Hartshorn has a bedside manner that is unbelievable. Prior to his move to MA he was in CA and did my moms hip replacement in 2017. Hands down an excellent doctor. I would highly recommend him all the way from CA! He is so missed by us! But he left us another great doctor. Dr. Daniel Stephenson!

Thanks to Dr. Hartshorn and his staff I am well on my to a full recovery of a Bimalleolar ankle break. Very thorough in explaining my injury, treatment options and surgical procedures, and recovery milestones. I'm so thankful to have found Ortho Boston, beautiful clean office space, professional staff, and a great cup of ginger tea at every appointment to ease my anxiety. Dr. Hartshorn extraordinary, he followed up with me several times after surgery, and returned all my calls promptly and most

I went to see Dr. Hartshorn for a shoulder problem because one of my colleagues said he was the best in town. From my experience with him combined with my experiences with other orthopedic surgeons, the recommendation appears to be accurate. Hard to imagine there is a better doc out there.

I am actually not a patient myself, however I did take my father to see Dr. Hartshorn when he fell and fractured his hip. He was referred by a close friend, and I will be forever thankful. Dr. Hartshorn is kind, courteous, respectful, and, after seeing him multiple times for the requisite follow-up appointments, he almost feels like part of the family at this point. I am writing this review to let others know that there still a doctor out there who actually care about his patients.

I had good experience with doctor hartshorn. I had gone to many doctors in boston and many of them didn't take time with me or didn't care about me. Not only is he a good doctor but he is very nice. I like him a lot and you should go see him. He is the best in boston I think.

I saw many shoulder docs before I came to see him and all of them said I needed shoulder replacement. I really didn't want one, and he that although maybe in the end I would end up with one there are "always options" which was nice to hear. We did three stem cell injections in my shoulder and I am not kidding you it feels great. Not sure how long it will last but it was nice to see a doctor that didn't want to cut first.
