Dr. Timothy Goundrey, MD

If you are in need of a very skilled and seasoned General Surgeon, readily available for appointments and timely surgery, I highly recommend a consult with Dr. Timothy Goundrey. Recently, he successfully performed surgery on me for an inguinal hernia repair with no complications and minimum recovery time. With 22 years of surgical experience for a diverse list of medical conditions, he is a Georgetown University undergraduate followed by both his medical school and surgery residency at UConn. He is very personable, an excellent listener, and his bedside manner during consults and pre/post-surgery conveys a genuine interest in what is best for his patient. 31 July 2023, he departed Trinity Health of New England, where his high patient review ratings stood out to me, and joined Hartford Health Care (HHC). Restricted from personally soliciting existing patients from his practice at Trinity Health in his move to HHC, he is now readily available for appointments and scheduling for surgeries

Dr. Goundrey repaired my bilateral inguinal hernia at St. Francis Hospital on January 18th. He and the staff at St. Francis were nothing short of amazing. This was my first surgery and I’m one day out of surgery and feeling great. I can’t thank the good doctor enough.

Anyone needing a surgeon should definitely consider Dr. Goundrey. He is the kindest, gentlest and most caring doctor I have ever used. I recently had a complicated gallbladder surgery (my first surgery) and I can’t imagine having been under the care of anyone other than him. Pre- and post surgery care was and has been awesome. From the start he made me feel very comfortable and hopeful that all would turn out fine (and it did!). I also want to give a shout-out to Clarice (in the Bloomfield office). She literally held my hand when needed, gave me great advice and showed me such compassion during a time that was very scary and stressful to me. That meant a lot to me. Thank you both for all you did for me.

My son's hernia repair was done without a hitch. He is three days out and feeling great. We knew we were in good hands with Dr. Goundrey. His staff is excellent as well!

I sought treatment with Dr. Goundrey for the removal of my gallbladder. I was referred by a physician in the same practice as my PCP. I was extremely nervous and found him easy to talk to, knowledgeable, and overall very calming. If I had two gallbladders due to a medical oddity and the second needed to be removed I would return to him in a heartbeat for the procedure. His assistant, Clarice, was wonderful to work with as well with respect to scheduling.
