He really cares for you
Very good to our whole family and only doctor we have used for our 47 year old special needs son. Most doctors stand away from him, but Dr Purgason cares enough to treat him and us with close attention.

The new patient appt/office manager needs to be fired immediately. She is toxic to your professional office and her employees. So unfortunate. Sir, please give me a call at (210) 391-0112. I will explain.

He doesn't care about his patients at all, he shuffles people in and out to get his paycheck and his staff makes the TSA look incredibly friendly. Avoid at all costs.

I've used Dr Purgason for many years. I can't say enough about how he has helped me. I had tiny symptoms and he sent me to a specialist. Turns out it was bladder cancer. After a speedy surgery, I was fine. The specialist told me if I did not come in early like I did, it would have been a big deal and likely shortened my life. Thank you Dr P!

I've been going to Dr. Purgason for several years. I find him efficient yet thorough. He has provided very good care for me at all times and has recommended good specialists when I've need them. I'd recommend him to others seeking an internal medicine physician. His staff is very friendly. That makes the visit all the more pleasant.

Dr. Purgason is the very best doctor. I drive over 2 hours to see him and will continue to make the drive until he retires. He listens to everything I say, answers all questions, and works me in when I have an urgent issue.

Worst Doctor Ever. Spends about 2 minutes in the room with you. Never listens. Interrupts. Leaves as you are asking questions. Prescribes medicine you continuously tell him upsets your stomach. Staff is rude. If you don't write your prescriptions on an 8x11 piece of paper they harass you like you are a little kid. Even after multiple hospital visits he did not spend any time at my appt allowing me to tell him what happened to me. Had to seek other doctors for accurate care and diagnosis.

Dr. Purgason's office is always efficient and thorough. Whenever I call for a sick appointment I am often seen within hours. I am seen at my appointment time or sooner if I arrive early. He tries his best to prescribe known medicines and tries to make them affordable. When I have lab work, I am called with the results the next morning.

I found myself without health insurance after moving to Arlington to start a new job and getting snarled in ObamaCare. Dr. Purgason was acutely aware of this, and provided me with exemplary health care. I found his entire staff to be helpful, caring, and concerned; often calling me at home to inquire about my well-being. Dr. P strikes me as a physician with an excellent combination of assets; he combines his command of sound medical knowledge with empathy, good listening skills & sound advice.

Found this doctor to have very quiet, attentive demeanor, listening well to get complete picture. Very respectful. Don't live in Arlington right now and wish I had a Doctor like this where I am & if I return in near future, I sure hope he is still practicing & will see me as a patient again.

The office staff is exceptionally rude. There is a sense of hostility in the waiting room with admonitions to not "steal" magazines. There is a strident reminder to have all medications on an 8x11 paper or the Dr will not see you. It is unlike any other medical experience I have had. Medical records that need to be forwarded are not released until a fee is mailed in.

Some doctors over explain, others do not explain enough. With Purgason, the patient needs to take the initiative to ask questions, but if they do, then Purgason gives an appropriate and adequate answer. Sometimes every doctor is rushed, but if the patient asks Purgason a question when busy, he will slow down and take more time with the patient to address their concerns. Generally, if I needed an urgent appointment I was able to get one with him immediately or within a reasonable time period.
