Dr. Thomas Nguyen, DO

I have been a patient of Dr. Nguyen since moving to Ellijay 5 years ago. Scheduled appointments usually go quickly. Walk in is usually 30 minutes. His staff is great. Dr. Nguyen & his physician assistant are both excellent physicians. They listen to why you are there & explain their diagnosis with you. They are friendly & patient. Also they are American & speak perfect English so don't let the Vietnamese surname deter you. His staff is multi lingual also if you are not fluent in english.

My entire family have been patients of Dr Nguyen's for the past 11 years. Sometimes the wait can be long but I have never been disappointed with Dr. Nguyen. He is a kind thoughtful and supportive medical professional. Dr. Nguyen and his NP Tan are both very professional in the way they manage any medial problems my family members might have had.

Good bedside manner. Explains condition well. Thorough.

Excellent place to get medical care. The providers here treat all medical conditions and when needed, refer to appropriate specialty. Highly recommend this office for its highly trained, personable, and compassionate providers.

He doesn't go over all your symptoms with you and instead concentrate on one for months at a time. I would not reccomend this Dr at all

5 years ago Dr. Nguyen was a good doctor. He is dramatically different and I would not refer anuone to him. He defends the rudeness of his nursing staff (they don't wear badges discerning their names or postions; they are rude and very unprofessional as well as judgemental). Dr. Nguyen wants to take pictures of all of his patients for identification purposes. While this is legal it is unnecessary because he scans or copies your drivers license. If you refuse his office staff and nursing staff become offensive. I was told by the nursing staff that I had an attitude problem. Dr. Nguyen told me I was paranoid.

A very good Doctor, I would say he is one of the best Doctor's I have saw in the last few year's.

He is very rude and does not listen to you. I tried explaining all my symptoms to him and he only focused on one thing which I was not even experiencing and I tried telling him that ,but he insisted that the reason. then all he did was give me a print out from the internet and said" you know you could have gotten this off the Internet yourself", He is very arrogant and did not address any of my issues. I will be seeing another doctor.

Awful bedside manner. Insensitive to suffering of others.

No follow up, never a call back when leaving messages. Got the wrong diagnosis, and could not get a call back or another appointment to try and get the proper medications. Waste of time, and we are back where we started..Stay away

Always behind seeing patients, rushes through appointments (nurses say he sees over 80 patients a day! That's 6 minutes per patient!). Refuses to go over test results with patients, or hospital records (says he doesn't have time). Will not prescribe ANY type of pain medication "even if you cut off your leg" (his words) but will treat you "for runny noses, diabetes, things like that". My new doc says his actions were "complete disregard for patient health & possibly malpractice".

Dr Nguyen is one of the most knowedgable and kind hearted person I have ever known.
