Dr. Thomas Joseph, MD

Dr. Joseph replaced my right knee six weeks ago. Although it has been a painful process, Dr. Joseph did an excellent job of my surgery. There are numerous bad ratings because of what people see as him being uncaring or lacking bedside manner. Dr. Joseph is busy but he told me what I needed to know. Give me a great surgeon any day over a not so great surgeon with good bedside manner.

Only reason I give one star is because I can't give 0. My 94 y/o Mother was referred there with a fractured ankle. He took a quick peek and had to be chased down with questions. She had an open sore then and was wrapped back up with no medicine on it covered with patch of gauze and same dirty ace wrap we went in with. Week later looked worse and still no antibiotics. Same ace wrap again and told us wait another week. Instead, we found a different doctor in Columbia who put her in hospital immediately and did surgery next morning to place stabilizers and found multiple bone fragments and infection. Now has to have a 2nd surgery for skin grafts. He also lied on medical records. Example: we told him pain med wasn't strong enough and he said we told him it was adequate. I wouldn't send a junkyard dog to him.

If you think it’s acceptable for your doctor to spend no more than 15 seconds in the exam room with you then Dr. Joseph is the one for you. He doesn’t listen and he rushes around like he’s on cocaine. If you can’t spend 5 minutes listening to and addressing the concerns of your patient then you shouldn’t be a doctor.
