Dr. Thomas Hryniewicki, MD

I've been seeing Tom for 30 years. And he is retiring and sold to Optum!!!! They are buying up all kinds of practices in California and they are just the very worst.

I don’t have any complaints about the care that Dr. Hryniewicki provides, but his office is run as an uncaring money machine with zero care for a patient’s well-being. They care about only one thing: profit. The office decided to switch their affiliation to a medical group not covered by my insurance. They were switching from one of the largest most respected medical groups in the area to one that is lesser known and more exclusive (I guess they only want patients with deeper pockets). That’s their prerogative, but what really bothers me is that they duped me into staying with them to the last possible second until they could milk as much money as possible from me, and then left me high and dry when I really needed them. After checking with my insurance, I was told by Lynn in their office that I would still be covered after the switch. Then, about one week before the switch, I was in a car accident and suffering from a severe concussion, barely able to concentrate on the most basic information. I needed my doctor. But when I called, there was no recognition of the urgency, they said they couldn’t get me in for another few weeks, and oh by the way, at that point we will have moved out of your insurance coverage, so we can’t make you an appointment or help you in any way. You’ll need to go find a new doctor. The complete opposite of what I had been told! And all of this was relayed to me in the most uncaring way possible, as if I was a nuisance to them. Fast-forward four months, I have by this time found a doctor’s office that actually cares about me, and I start getting daily harassing phone calls from Dr. H’s office about an appointment I supposedly have and “since you changed your insurance” we need to talk to you. Of course, I didn’t change my insurance, they changed affiliations. And if I had an appointment, it should have been canceled months ago when this issue first came up. Never have they cared so much about speaking with me than when I was taking up an appointment space that they wanted to offer to someone who could make them more money. I guess if you have coverage for their office, feel free to go, but just beware. Someday you might find that you’re not worth enough to them, and they treat you like garbage as they kick you to the curb.

I had seen 2 doctors over about 8 months time who both told me my symptoms were indigestion. They prescribed meds for that. The medications didn’t help so I found Dr. Hryniewicki and he said I had gallstones and sent me for a test. He was right. I needed surgery sooner rather than later. I could not wish for a better doctor. He spends time with his patients and actually listens. I have been seeing him for around 30 years. I highly recommend him.

He is great at his job I have been a patient of his for 30 years there’s not another doctor I would go to

This office maintains useless mask mandates even though the staff are all vaccinated, wear masks themselves, and work behind plexiglass.

Dr. Hryniewicki has been my doctor for well over 10 years and was my Mom and Dad’s doctor as well. He was recommended to us by one of the nurses in pre-op at St. Joseph’s Hospital. In case you weren’t aware, the nurses know who to recommend. Turns out many of the nurses from St. Joe’s are his patients and that doesn’t surprise me. He is exceptionally kind and caring and a magnificent doctor. He listens intently, responds to what you’re saying and never rushes. He returns calls and messages same day and his office runs like clockwork (which is rare these days). My appointments take about 45 minutes to an hour every 6 months. He is an excellent diagnostician and is very patient with me. I couldn’t wish or ask for a better physician. He truly cares about his patients and often goes the extra mile. I’m so grateful for him and all he has done for me and my family.

Dr. Hryniewicki is caring and knowledgeable. It's been a pleasure to have him as my doctor.

Not only is he a great doctor, but he is always a joy to talk to. This man, as far as I'm concerned, saved my life. He called the shot for the prostate biopsy, sure enough, I had cancer. It was caught on time and contained to the prostate. It has now been over 5 years. This cancer killed my brother, so I am so thankful for Dr. Hryniewicki. He's also helped with solid advise on other issues. I like his common sense approach to medicine.
