Very positive experience
I felt incredibly supported and truly heard by Dr. Fahey. He took the time to explain everything in detail and patiently answered all my questions. He examined my thyroid through ultrasound and even arranged for me to have a full neck ultrasound to check my lymph nodes the same day. I traveled from outside NYC to consult Dr. Fahey, and he and his team made sure everything was done efficiently and promptly. I can’t thank them enough for their care and attention.Dr. Fahey’s personalized approach is rare among surgeons, and it made a huge difference in my experience. My case is borderline, and I'm still considering whether to proceed with surgery or wait. However, I’m confident that if I choose surgery with Dr. Fahey, it will be the right decision for me.Claudia, my main point of contact, was amazing—she responded to all my emails and calls promptly and provided excellent guidance throughout the process.Additionally, the entire team at NY Presbyterian Hospital was outstanding.

Couldn't be better! He understood that I was just over a major spinal surgery and defiantly not looking forward to another situation 'under a knife'. He put me at ease, explained options, and he and his team were responsive to my outreach. Can't say enough positive things about his low key manner, concern for my anxieties, and reassured me throughout the process. He's a true gem!

Very kind...put me at ease
Telehealth
My first contact with Dr. Fahey was a virtual visit. He was very kind and made me feel at ease with a plan to address my condition. He answered all of my questions, and I had a lot. I was very nervous but after speaking with Dr. Fahey, I feel comfortable going forward with him as my surgeon. The staff members I spoke with prior to the visit were very nice.

Best of the best!
On my first visit Dr. Fahey explained everything until I fully understood the situation and my options. We decided to wait and follow up at a later date, which was this visit. I started with a scan in the early am and then had my appointment 2 hours later. There was a timing issue with getting the scans back from radiology, which resulted in a very long wait. If getting same day scans, I would suggest leaving at least 3 hours between appointments. Met with the NP Erin (loved!) and then Dr Fahey. He decided to do another biopsy and after a short wait I was taken in. All in all, I HIGHLY recommend Dr. Fahey and his team. He explained everything in layman’s terms and I left with a clear plan. He has a great bedside manner and clearly understands how to speak to patients with respect.

Average
Very nice and kind. I came in with a specific problem and surgical consultation. He asked me to do lots of tests but I still have no clear path and how the tests will guide the decision if I need surgery or not. I would not go back since he is not able to clearly articulate what I have and how all the test are going to guide the process and help me make a decision.

Fantastic!!
Dr. Fahey took the time to explain all of my options. When I had further questions, he responded via email and no question was too silly. I had never had surgery before and my entire surgery experience with Dr. Fahey and Weill-Cornell-NYP were beyond my expectations. I would highly recommend Dr. Fahey to anyone needing thyroid surgery. He is a fantastic surgeon with an excellent bedside manner. The entire staff was fantastic and scheduling was very prompt.

I love this doctor! So kind and he listens.
Was thoughtful and did not want to rush into surgery until a nuclear test proved I needed it. My surgery was a hugh success and I had absolutely no pain. After two weeks I walked a mile yesterday and I am 87 years old. If you need gall bladder surgery, see Dr. Fahey.
