Dr. Coon replaced both my father's knees when Dad was about 80, and he lived to be 96 with much less discomfort and much better mobility. Dr. Coon was amazing, and Dad was walking the day after surgery. Once he was home from the hospital, he recuperated at home for a few days. Dr. Coon improved Dad's quality of life so much! I recommend Dr. Coon without reservation.

I had a Partial Left Knee Replacement with Dr. Coon in 2015. Both my husband and I were very pleased with the initial consult AND the subsequent surgery and 6 week follow-up in his office in Napa. We traveled from Southern Oregon, feeling it very worthwhile since he is one of the best knee surgeons in the world. My surgery was extremely successful, with full flexion in a very short time (matter of weeks) and very little physical therapy needed. The fact that I was in good health and committed to the recovery had a lot to do with my overall condition. I have had no pain or any issues since the surgery. I will try to do a Telehealth 5 year Check Up, as having no issues.

I had a partial left knee replacement in July 2012. Overall I’ve done well though I didn’t get full flexion but that happen sometimes. Recently I’ve started having pain on the same side that was replaced and a lot of swelling in the back of my knee. I was going to make the trip from Boise Idaho to St. Helena but now that I see Dr. Coon doesn’t do revisions I don’t see the point. I guess I’ll be looking for a different doctor and someone to do my right knee.

The right knee replacement is good, but the left knee began to hurt after about 6 months.. Coon blew me off when I told him about it and said it would get better. It did not. The first appointment I could get to see him was over 3 months away, despite being in pain. Coon lives part time in Thailand and blows into town do surgeries, which seems his only interest. He had no back up doctor to see me and does not do revisions. A competent doctor at UCSF did a revision to replace the loose parts.
