BEWARE
I had an emergency surgery and I am now missing a fallopian tube due to her not taking my concerns seriously, repeatedly denying me an ultrasound, and not listening to what I had to say. DO NOT GO TO HER.

Cold and distant
I have seen this doctor about 3 times and I keep wondering why I came back. Her rudeness, disinterest, and failure to engage or concern herself with me is something I’ve never experienced to this extreme. Total time she spent with me was 8 minutes and that included a pelvic exam. My questions were met with monosyllabic answers. I can only suppose she hates her profession which leaves me and apparently the rest of her patients wondering why she continues in this line of work. I’m looking for a new gyne now. 3 strikes and you’re out!

Unkind & Unprofessional
She conducted my last 3 annual exams. She was aIways short in her answers. Example: “what can I do about my lowered/nonexistent sex drive” She told me, “read 50 Shades of Grey.” I also asked her, “how should I handle this sudden weight gain?” She told me to get a Peleton because that’s what ‘I’ do. I told her that’s not an option so she told me to fast. I asked her to explain what fasting protocol she recommends. She told me “look it up.” I was in my late 30s and experiencing symptoms of menopause: no period for a year, weight gain, hot flashes, etc. I shared my family’s history of going into early menopause. She deadpan looked me in the eyes and said “The average age of menopause is 51. You’re not even close!” I’d never been so gaslighted. I then requested her to order a full hormone panel, which she begrudgingly did. Guess what- I was in full blown menopause! She left my results on voicemail and I kept it as a reminder to myself that I know my body best. Office staff is also rude.

AVOID THIS DOCTOR
I saw Dr. Theresa Hughes, I have never been so rudely treated by a doctor in my life. I was repeatedly cut off, interrupted and dismissed throughout the course of our appointment in which I was attempting to address my concerns. I asked to receive testing that plainly exists, a quick google search produces numerous results from verified establishments and was told that no such testing exists. I was not provided any options or solutions during my visit. Following these interchanges, I felt she was extremely rough in my physical exam. I have been apart of this medical network for over a decade and cannot believe my experience today. I will no longer be returning to any Northshore Medicalgroup associates and advise all to avoid appointments with Dr. Theresa Hughes.

Dr Hughes has been my doctor for almost 15 years. She is terrific. She knows her stuff and is very easy to talk to. She always calls about test results and makes herself available when I have health related questions. I would recommend her to anyone. She was terrific when I was pregnant (high risk) and she is terrific for general female health care.

The second time she fights me and just because I was urged to check a ball that appeared in my bosom, the first time she made me feel extremely painful compared to the others that have been done to me, she has a very heavy hand and yesterday I she did a horrible breast scan, she did not put on gloves and her hands were icy, she squeezed me so much that I was left with horrible breast pain yesterday and today, she was not with me for more than 10 minutes and did not write the recommendations as I asked

I am writing this to express my utter dissatisfaction to Dr. Hughes and her Group Practice.. She along with Dr. Kim conducted the C-section of my wife. They did it so badly that my wife was bleeding in the incision area for 6 weeks. This cannot be expected for a simple c-section or child birth from any experienced doctor. You can imagine what my family was going though, when it was bleeding for 6 continuous weeks. Therefore advice you to avoid this group practice.

I scheduled an appointment with Dr Hughes because she listed high risk pregnancy as one of her fields. However she didn't take a full medical history for me and seemed to want to rush me through my appointment and just kept using the term if it's a normal pregnancy which left me feeling very deflated and she is referring me to a colleague if my tests show a normal pregnancy. This was after she found I was 38 years old.I felt she had a very biased opinion and was not giving me her full attentio
