Dr. Teri Carlson, MD

Dr. Carlson has been such an asset for our 5-year-old son. She is knowledgeable, experienced, and thorough; she has great bedside manner and responds thoughtfully to all our questions. I assume she is equally effective with her adult patients. Dr. Carlson is well-respected as the local expert in her field. We knew she had a great reputation and are thrilled to see it first-hand.

Dr. Carlson is an excellent Pediatric/Adolescent Psychiatrist. She is by far the most recommended in Boulder. She is very personable and easy to talk with. She really understands kids, parental dynamics, co-parenting, and makes excellent use of your time. She is so knowledgeable about different medicines and even using no medicine. She asks the right questions to both the child and the parents. Also, Dr. Carlson does an excellent job explaining things to the child and parents in an understandable fashion. All of your questions will be answered. Finally, she is great about coordinating with your pediatrician and is well respected in the community.

Dr. Carlson is an intelligent, compassionate, professional psychiatrist who's mastered her listening skills, making her a top notch doctor. She immediately put my daughter at ease, and still listened to my concerns as a parent, using all of the information she gathered to recommend a treatment plan. She treated my daughter like someone who's mental health was important to her personally, not just because we were her 3:00 appointment, or another patient she could "milk". Thank you, Dr. Carlson!

I have spent 8 years trying to find the right mix of doctors and meds for my daughter. I wish that we could have found Dr Carlson at the beginning. She helped me get my kiddo back in a short period of time and for that I am eternally grateful. She is professional, responsive,knowledgeable, kind, and put both me and my daughter at ease immediately. In addition, she listens and values the parent's and the child's opinions. Can't recommend her highly enough!

Dr. Carlson is an excellent diagnostician. She is very knowledgeable about her psychiatric medications, the pros/cons and asks very pointed/pertinent questions to vet out what the true underlying issue is so the patient is prescribed the best medication for their symptoms. Her experience in hospitals seems to have given her some added expertise as well as this come out in her discussions when figuring out a treatment plan. The added bonus is that she is caring and empathetic to her patients.

Dr. Carlson is an amazingly warm and empathetic doctor. Cannot say enough good things about her. Smart, kind, patient... I highly recommend her!!
