Dr. Tejas Desai, DO

Dr. Desai has been my dermatologist for 20 years. He always has a caring attitude and will spend as much time with each patient as he can. This is a very busy office for a reason. People like and respect him and his brother for all they bring to the skincare community in Houston, Texas.

He and his brother run a bunch of dermatology offices in Dallas with very few doctors staffing them. Has lots of PA's and NP's. Probably just greedy,

Dr. Desai was friendly and efficient. Short wait time at the office and the staff was kind and professional. Dr. Desai went over the options with me, answered all of my questions, and was very personable. I went in because I wanted a mole removed and he removed it during the initial visit. He made me feel comfortable making the removal quick and easy.

I have been seeing Dr. Desai for a couple of years and had no complaints. However, he recently removed a basal cell carcinoma from my ankle. After he was finished he told me that he didn’t want to stitch it up because the skin was too tight in the area and that it could take 9 months to heal. He went on to say that they usually treat this kind of thing with radiation to avoid an open wound. He never mentioned any of this before he started cutting. Now I have had an open wound on my ankle for nearly a month that shows no sign of healing. I overheard him brag to one of his assistants once about being the Tom Brady of dermatology. I should have left right then and there. I have also been overcharged by their office twice. Stay away from this guy!

A really stuck up and condescending doctor.

Stay away from these doctors. I am a 75 year old woman and had basal cell skin cancer on my nose. I can only afford an HMO insurance. He had to do Moh's surgery and I think he cut too much as I had to go to a plastic surgeon to do a skin flap, which also turned out horrible. Because of the embarrassment of the way it looked, I had to become a hermit in my own home. Other reviewers have said that Dr. Desai is knife happy. They are in it for the money. I asked Dr. Desai when I was there "If I would have had better insurance, would this surgery have come out any different? Dr. Desai answered and said, "You get what you pay for." Also, if this practice has a negative review, they will put the review on the "review not recommended" page. Stay away from this practice!

I have been seeing him for about 2 years and am satisfied that he provides the best available care. Other physicians were not effective nor did they take the time to ensure that I was properly cared for.
