Superb technique, but denied concerning risks
Dr. Burnett is a superior surgeon whose skill and meticulous execution are to be commended. My tiny scars are not noticeable, but I can find them if I try. My recovery was rapid and my pain was minimal. Surgery prep and execution were handled extremely well. My only disappointment was that when I asked about risks and whether removing my ovaries would cause hormone changes in my body, he said that my ovaries were doing nothing for me and didn't produce any estrogen. A Mayo Clinic study published years before concluded that ovary removal shortens women's lives, noting that, even in women in their 80s, ovaries produce androgens that are converted into estrogen. Loss of estrogen can lead to increased inflammation associated with increased heart disease, cancer, and other sometimes deadly conditions. I have noticed rapid changes associated with loss of estrogen, but I don't know if my life will be shortened. Every woman has a unique risk factor profile. He should be thorough.

Dr. Burnett is an amazing physician. I feel so blessed and grateful I found him and his staff. I also love nurse Ann!! I recently had surgery for my endometriosis and a hysterectomy. There was no one I would trust more. He’s extremely knowledgeable, compassionate, and skilled. The other doctors at Mayo also told me if their wife had my condition, the would want Dr. Burnett. My experiences from appointments to surgery have been exceptional. I will continue to drive 7 hours just to be his patient.

Dr. Burnett was nothing short of amazing! He was very confident he could complete my surgery in a way that best maintained my health (something local surgeons were not confident in). His assurance helped me tremendously in my mental health when dealing with my issue and he was able to perform the difficult surgery very well. I was so very thankful for his kind care and for his confidence!

Nice enough but he was arrogant. I came to him complaining of endometriosis symptoms. He said he doubted that was the issue because my pelvic exam didn't cause me pain. Fast forward 1 year of me begging for surgery, and guess what! I have endometriosis! My surgery at mayo clinic was a nightmare, NEVER will I return!
