Establishing new Doctor Visit
Wow- I did read some of the reviews on this site, however, being in the medical field myself, felt I would meet him and make my own decision. Dr. El-Qousy was fabulous! He heard all my concerns, addressed each one, one by one, explained everything thoroughly, ordered diagnostic tests appropriate to my ailments. He was mentoring a resident at the time too and asked if okay she accompanied him, and he was just as amazing with explaining things to her and addressing why he was doing what with my presenting symptoms. I really hope that everyone has just as good an experience as I did. Grateful for the opportunity in being able to find such a caring doctor.

WOULD NOT RECOMMEND
Found Dr. El-Qousy very unprofessional, incompetent and lack of patient care like many people highlighted in other reviews. Got transferred to him as previous doctor retired, who was awesome. He refused to trust any of previous records from previous doctor who was in same office and health office and insisted us to see him. It was total waste of time. He was very incompetent, did not listen to patient concerns. Changed doctor after first visit, such a waste of time. Surprised to see UCDavis has such an incompetent and unprofessional doctor.

BEST DOCTOR EVER
He diagnosed a significant problem that no other doctor would have taken the time or had the patience to figure it out. So glad he is my doctor.

Dr. El-Qousy saw my wife recently. It was her first, only and last visit with him. Needless to say, it was awful. I don’t know if he’s uncaring, lacks compassion or is simply burned out. Perhaps all of those things? I can assure though he will never see my wife again. I realize it’s difficult to find a primary care physician in the area, but heed my warning, Dr. El-Qousy should be removed from your list of possible options. For the record, I’m 66 years old and have never written a review, but I felt compelled to write this one. Please…choose another physician.

I was rushed through my appointment. When I told him about a second issue I wanted to discuss I was told I needed to come back to do that. Which is utterly ridiculous. Then when I received an email about test results he could barely muster three words to explain himself. Not a good communicator and very offputting. switched doctors immediately
