Dr. Tanya Leykin, MD

I first met Dr. Tanya Leykin and her fabulous team in 2015 when my children and I relocated to Cliffside Park, New Jersey. At the time, I needed to quickly register my children for school as the school year in New Jersey had already begun. Dr. Leykin’s fantastic Office Manager, Ms. Christina was able to help me get my children’s records from our out of state pediatrician as well as get my children up to speed with their immunization requirements for the State of New Jersey. What I valued back then in retrospect is that Dr. Leykin does not treat her patients as a number in that she looks at each patient case by case holistically in order to develop the best treatment and course of action plan for each individual child. I subsequently had another child and Dr. Leykin was there for me. Having the piece of my mind that my newborn was under the best care was priceless. Securing an appointment has never been an issue in fact she and her team are just as flexible as we as parents should be because the overall health and wellness of Dr. Leykin’s patients is paramount. I appreciate that deeply. Transparently speaking, there were areas that as a mother of four children I thought I had arrived and knew it all and there was an instance where I needed to reevaluate the cleaning products as well as what I was using to mop and swept the floors of my home which were impacting allergies. Dr. Leykin gave her expertise and I challenged her and in retrospect I apologized swiftly because it was me feeling that I was not doing a good job not her saying that to me; it was internal processing of oh wow, I really do need to take a look at what I am using to clean my home. Dr. Leykin is a professional and very passionate about ensuring her families receive the optimum care as well as exposure to the best products. I am happy to share that when I did implement all of Dr. Leykin’s suggestions, the sneezing stopped! She was right! We laugh as we reflect back to my little minor grown pain as a parent. I am overjoyed that my children have been patients for 8 years now and I am beyond blessed as well as grateful that I ate some humble pie in order to grow as a parent. Dr. Leykin has offered invaluable advice and guidance down through the years. During the COVID-19 pandemic she continued her standard of excellence caring for her patients with the same impeccable standard of excellence. She followed very protocol to keep her patients and families safe. Both of Dr. Leykin’s front office team, Ms. Christina and Ms. Nellie are fantastic; they are professional as well courteous and Ms. Christina and Ms. Nellie care deeply for their patients and families. I cannot forget to mention how fabulous our beloved Dr. Leykin dresses; dare I say the best dressed Pediatrician I have ever met! I also love how phenomenal Dr. Leykin and her team Ms. Christina and Nellie all work together. The office runs seamlessly. Moreover, Dr. Leykin’s office along with examining rooms are always clean; safe and patients are seen as expeditiously as possible. My children feel comfortable with Dr. Leykin who always takes the time to connect with them checking their overall mental and health wellness: She is an advocate for her children as well as for her families here in our community. I have evolved as a parent and mother because Dr. Leykin is an inspiring professional; mother herself and she is pillar in our community. I value the relationships she has fostered with our schools along with our local health department too. Thank you Dr. Leykin for being who you are! I appreciate our fireside chats and whenever we leave an appointment with you; I feel solid in knowing that my children are under the best care. Thank you for the referrals you always give too. You have always referred us to phenomenal specialists and your follow up is admirable. I highly recommend Dr. Leykin’s practice and treasure Dr. Leykin; Ms. Christina and Ms. Nellie.

Rude ,nasty

This doctor, who is a pediatrician, refused care for my child, who has disordered eating, because my child wanted to give her weight verbally instead of physically getting on the scale. The doctor refused to allow this, which is allowed in many practices that follow trauma-informed care. This doctor purposefully inflicted trauma on my child by refusing to see her when my child has a concussion and we were seeking care, simply because my child wanted to avoid getting on the scale. Shameful, negligent and lacking of any compassion.
